The black-clad Antifa thugs marching down our streets today are not all that different from the Blackshirts of fascists Italy or, more relevantly to this article on the Nazis, Hitler's Brownshirt thugs and SS stormtroopers. Just look at the "protests" that have happened recently. Are the actions of these store-looting and dissenter-attacking radicals any different than the actions of those people?

I completely agree. Socialism was one of, if not the, most destructive forces with which the world has had to contend. It has erased once-vibrant cultured, led hundreds of millions, or perhaps billions, into poverty, and, as you noted, killed over 100 million people. Yet most people my age think it is a good thing. The reason for that is that they were never taught about how evil it is. We need to push for a change in school curricula so that young Americans start learning about just how evil socialism is.

And the prototypical fascist, Mussolini, was a loyal member of the Italian socialist party and editor of their newspaper until he disagreed with the party stand on WW I believing that Italy should go to war to take some culturally Italian areas from the Austro-Hungarian Empire. No difference on economic or government domestic policy - just on foreign policy.

What’s in a name? The National Socialist Workers Party NAZIs were fascist to the core. The Anti-Fascists, AntiFa were communist Marxists and socialists. Both had anti Jewish elements. Today we see a power struggle where their are people of the left who want power by any means. The rest is rhetoric.

I’ve been telling people for years that Nazis were and are leftists to the core. But all the definitions say they are right-wing. I always point out what Nazis believe, then ask how is that possibly right-wing? No one can ever tell me anything even halfway reasonable after that. Most just say, “Look up any definition, they all say right wing.” Almost mindlessly.
there was an online book I read on my Amazon reader which included letters from Goebbels and Hitler and these letter made it clear that they were going to nationalize corporations eventually.

But Communists never use the term “Nazi”, they use “Fascist”.
