A man was seen standing alone outside his business in Minneapolis, armed only with a pipe wrench, trying to keep the mob from looting it.
As the numbers swelled, the man realizes he's greatly outnumbered and tries to run. The mob chases him and wrestles the wrench from his hands. At this point, the man retreats back inside his pickup truck, which gets the wrench tossed back through its rear window.

The problem is the people who would be defending actually have families and such they don’t want to lose, and the police are actively persecuting people who defend themselves in many jurisdictions. In fact, they will jail the defender, doxx him, and then mysteriously not provide protection to the defender’s family as Antifa goes to their house and attacks them.
I was on a rooftop with a rifle in LA in 1992 during those riots - and part of the consideration there was that the police had abandoned the city. They were not going to be showing up to ruin lives and throw defenders in jail. Were I presented with the same problem today but with the police actively working against defenders? I would likely not do it again.
There are other camera angles that have been posted. At least 20 run back in after the first guy is shot at the service station.
Here’s a hint - Kyle stayed on scene for a few moments, but ended up running down the street from the returning mob. If “only a few bad actors” had returned, he wouldn’t have started running.
I think at the distance we are speaking of I would prefer having my AK-47 with a couple of extra mags over an AR-15.
If the crowd was completely berserk I think I’d be worried about having only 5 rounds in my pump shotgun. I don’t think I could reload it that fast.
When the gentleman jumped in his truck he should have put the shifter in R for race and floored it.....That would have stopped the attackers.........
Yep. I’ve seen ‘em all - over and over, in slow motion, freezing frames, etc - including the one where he is casually walking toward the cop cars.
That is what my opinion is based on.
The Saiga 12 is a drum fed AK variant that happens to be a 12 gauge shotgun. It fires off detachable box or drum magazines of between five and thirty rounds capacity. At close range, the kind we’re talking about here, it’s far more devastating than an AR or AK rifle. It’s my preferred tool for problems like this.
Then you’re not seeing what I am and I wish you luck should you find yourself in such an engagement. I’ve found myself in one already back in 92 and my experience does not agree with your proposed course of action or your suggested mob conduct - because they largely didn’t do that then and the videos I’m seeing now indicate to me the current set are worse about it now.
Kyle came out just fine, in spite of his clumsyness.
In your 1992 situation, how many people did you shoot?
If loaded with pepperballs it becomes more effective. Unfortunately, Antifa is often seen wearing facial protection so it would be less than effective.
Kyle’s currently in jail, so “fine” is questionable in the grand scheme of things.
I must regretfully refuse to answer your question as this is a public forum and California is once again trying to prosecute defenders from the riots if they can come up with *any* evidence. Yes, even 28 years later.
A skilled operator can shoot a pump just about as fast as a semi-auto.
Paul Harrell addressed this issue.

He’s still slower than my Saiga or a Benelli or Beretta, and when you run a pump that fast you always run the risk of short stroking, which takes your gun out of action. The big problem is that even if you can somehow run your pump as fast as a modern design semiauto, you still run into the problem that once you run out, your reload is very slow. In the time it takes him to stick a loose round into the chamber, I’ve already swapped mags and am firing again. Yes, there are mag fed pumps, but they’re rather kludgey.
I've seen plenty of videos where some of them just keep-on-coming. In some cases, I'm going to guess drugs, but in some, it just seems like adrenaline.
I’ve seen the same videos - apparently cuban leaf up there hasn’t.
As I said above, I’ve also seen it in person and believe me you don’t forget that.
M18A1 Claymore set around perimeter.
Surprised the Minneapolis mayor and DA didnt commend the man for not harming the peaceful protestors.
Not necessarily so, and their friends may not even notice.
