What I sent to to the customer service chat line and someone named Daniel regurgitated the non apology of the CEO and then disconnected.
CEO apology that should have been: "You know what - I had no idea this crap was being taught at our company and I have fired the contractors and those that hired the contractors. We make tires - Our employees can support whoever they want and wear whatever slogans they want, as long as they keep making tires.
If you are a good year customer we thank you, if not gives us a try - our tires are black, but they work well on any colored car!"
COLORED CAR??!~?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!.................AOC....Automobiles of Color.............
All I got from Goodyears chat app was exactly the same short string of corporate bafflegab. Probably a bot on the other end.
Goodyear. NFL. NBA. Never again.
Their repair shops are ripoff centers anyway.
NOICE. I don’t use Gillet razors after their goofy toxic male ads.
Let’s see ‘em fire a “blacklivesmatter” t-shirt wearing employee or a joe/kameltoe shirt.
“I dont use Gillet razors after their goofy toxic male ads.”
Same can be said for me RE Chick-fil-A. I liked their sammiches, but to heck with’em.
Goodyear isnt the only major U.S. employer allowing its employees to embrace Black Lives Matter at work but not Make America Great Again.
So is the federal government.
The U.S. Office of Special Counsel, an independent federal agency headed by a President Donald Trump appointee, last month issued a statement saying that Black Lives Matter is neither political nor partisan, which means federal employees are free to wear or display materials at work related to the social justice cause.
Make America Great Again, however, is off limits, the special counsel has said, because its Trumps slogan and federal workers are prohibited from using slogans or phrases directed toward the success or failure of a partisan political candidate or a political party.
Its not clear if Trump was aware of the federal government position when he called for a boycott of Goodyear for mirroring the government policy.
Black Tires Matter. 8>)
Are whitewall tires considered racist?
They should be. The upper layer of white is supported by the black parts which do all the work.
So is Pep Boys..................
Had to buy 2 new tires yesterday was driving on a donut. Husband was looking at Goodyear. I Bought Cooper.
Yes, not on company time or on company property. Politics is a personal — not a professional —matter.
Support whoever you want on your own time. If you can’t abide by that constraint then take your politics to the next job — starting tomorrow.
I’ll start buying Goodyear again when the stockholders force out the clowns who came up with totally democratic, anti-Republican campaign, not before.
My brother retired from Goodyear many years ago. He was always in a group that they called the Top 10 Supervisors Club. He was good at what he did. But, after he retired he found out that Goodyear did not keep their promises of his retirement and how much they were putting in a retirement system for him. He got royally screwed. They once again closed the Goodyear plan in Gadsden, Alabama, about 30 miles from my home. The jobs went to MEXICO!!! where they are paying like $7.00 an hour and no retirement, which would have been crap anyway. My brother is now 82 years old and had only one retirement, his 401k plan and Social Security. He got screwed out of the rest by the Goodyear now-closed Gadsden plant.
Pretty much describes Corporate America.
I am not a lib, but I learned very early: Don’t trust corporations; they are not people. They are “things.”
I am a capitalist—but not because I worked for someone else. I worked for myself.
The absolute worst invention of the 20th century was the 401(k). It turned mutual fund managers into some of the most powerful people in the world. And it turned corporations into puppets of wall street analysts.
Not 100% true.We have a mom and pop store hear that has been selling Goodyear tires since the 40s.
They do business the old fashioned way. Solid service OUTSTANDING word of mouth warranty and just good folks all the way around.

I’ve had a similar experience.
