Really. No wonder he couldn’t breath. Had nothing to do with the guy kneeling on his neck

Fentanyl causes a narcotized and anesthetized state where in there is slow and deep breathing and peaceful sleep. No matter what and if he had on his system having someone kneel on your neck past the point of j responsive is a terrible plan and awful optic. Out inability as conservatives to condemn this behavior is a losing proposition. Period.

Bravo. Bravo, FRiend.

None of this provides any reason for killing Floyd by having Derek Chauvin put a knee on his neck for 9 minutes.

As I wrote elsewhere, I get that in 2004 many people defended the war in Iraq and voted for Dubya because to do otherwise meant President Lurch. That was a political decision.

It seems the same political calculus is afoot today: part of this nation can border on saying that the killing of Floyd was ok because saying otherwise puts them in the side of the rioters. Similarly, part of this nation can border on saying that rioting and burning and looting is ok because saying otherwise puts them in the side of the police.

We need to call balls and strikes. I see no error or moral crime in holding these beliefs simultaneously: George Floyd was not as pure as the driven snow; the police have a difficult job to do; not all LEOs good guys; the cities of the nation should NOT defund the police; rioting and destruction of private property is NEVER legal or something to be championed; and a competent cop would have arrested and subdued Floyd without killing him.

Doc, you are usually cogent but now you are concerned with "optics" not cause and effect.

Shame, doc, shame.

The "neck kneeling" is part of the MN police protocol {which they don't want to now admit}.

George, killed himself, the cop just moved the body to the stretcher.

Optics my ass, try facts and look at the autopsy results before you go liberal with the "optics".

Yep. Supporting these dirty cops is a kamikaze mission if there ever was one. Sadly, some otherwise good folks just can’t get past the racial aspect of this case. I’ve no doubt they would not be supporting these Democrat city dirty cops had this occurred at a Trump rally.

From the ostentatious funerals to the ridiculous Congressional kneeling, it’s obvious the Democrats had a plan in place and ready to go the next time a black person died in police custody. George just happened to be the one. THAT’S the kind of behavior that needs to be condemned.

He died of a drug overdoes. I have said that from the beginning. You can pretend he was murdered by four racist cops if it helps you get through the day.

The arresting officer assumes responsibility for the safety of the detained.

That passers-by were pointing out to the police that Floyd was unresponsive is, shall we say, problematic for the police, whether he had drugs in his system, a pre-existing medical condition, or simply an exceptionally adverse reaction to being detained.
