A daily drumbeat of announcements from colleges large and small, public and private, on the coasts and in the heartland that they are postponing opening dates.
This is going to be such a mess. Students are going to have to make back-up plans in case schools change their policy at the last minute.

If and when it can be proven that the risk has been overplayed for political gain, so much of society has been disrupted that those responsible for the chaos need to be executed.
Don’t worry, the big colleges will close soon after they get this semester’s payments in full from stupid parents paying for this crap. It will be all virtual from Labor Day till (I’d say Nov 4th) but the teacher unions have a loud minority that don’t ever want to go back to Face 2 Face while getting full pay $$$, so maybe till the foreseeable future.
I am teaching my classes face to face. However, distancing rules apply. So my class of 30 will be in a classroom for 90. No matter, my students are paying for in class classes.
The administration has given us the option of face to face, distance or a combination. I will record some lectures because our semester has been shortened.
THAT cartoon/mime right there has more truth in it than many realize.
Shutting down universities? Professors? Sounds like a pretty good plan.
That is so true.
Maybe the students need time off to deprogram?

They are calculating whether it would hurt or help Trump.
I heard an interesting report on a business news program a couple of weeks ago -- indicating that something like 20% of the high school senior who have been accepted as the new incoming freshmen class in colleges across the U.S. have already opted to delay their enrollment until at least January 2021. I suspect two things are going to happen:
1. That 20% figure is going to get much higher.
2. That 20% figure doesn't even include college students already enrolled who simply won't be going back anytime soon.
I adjunct taught for a community college some years back.
No way I will do it now with all the craziness.
I’m curious to see if I get a frantic call from them a week before Labor Day as they struggle to staff the increase in classes resulting from the kids who decided to not go away to college.
The first world is taking a year off. What will the new first world look like? Too soon to tell.

I hope all the libtard ones go bankrupt and all the libtard socialist profs go broke.
From what I hear, Oberlin is going to be open in August! Need for $$$$$ is my guess.
It’s a blessing so many students and parents are seriously doubting the value of an expensive college education. High unemployment of college graduates is well known. Who needs a worthless degree obtained with enormous student loan debt?
A virtual education is a reality right now. The bounty of learning on the Internet is available to all.
The future will not be tied to propaganda mills posing as universities. The fraud has been exposed.
