This "woman of color" thing is just plain gonna lose bigger than the hail Mary Ferarro pick in 1984- all the black women are whako and/or ugly. Newsom is the pretty boy Biden isn't and has won a big time governorship. who can claim success. Biden will still lose but it will set up the party for the next battle. He wins and Newsom becomes the crown prince and POTUS within a year.

Newsome is keeping his powder dry for 2024. I think he will be the nominee and likely the next president.

Given his proposed changes to the government, I’m thinking Nazi Gretchen Whitmer. It’ll add a large rack to his cabinet.
It’s going to be a woman, probably a black woman. I doubt you will ever see an all-male ticket for the Democrats ever again. Women are a huge part of their base and will be represented on future ticket, either in the top spot or the veep spot.
You should be grateful that women don’t pick there candidates based on looks. I don’t think either Trump or Pence would be in any woman’s top 10.

Northam is a disaster in VA but "Dr." Levine is Pennsylvania's POS. I think the good folks in PA will vote for Trump just because of that shinning example of a democrat specimen.

Black men are very familiar with entitled angry black women. Having one as VP would create more votes for Trump.
Why not Mazie Hirono, Senator from Hawaii? She is one of the most vitriolic members of Congress which should be a big plus from the standpoint of Democrats and she could be billed as a “Person of Color.”

Newsome is an empty suit. He certainly can’t square the circle between electibility and the Democratic base.
Kerry is possibly the worst person the Democrats have ever nominated for President, but it's hard to say--the competition is so stiff.
I didn’t suggest Newsom. I count myself lucky to have left California long before he became governor. But I think Biden would have a hard time reneging on his promise to pick a woman. (Not that he will really be the one who makes the decision.)
