My husband heard Charlie Monk? on Willie's Roadhouse station wax poetic over Joe Biteme.
Waaaaay too much virtue signaling.
Going to either Pandora, Iheart (yes i know, socialist) Spotify. Any ideas as he streams music when at work (HVAC tech driving from job to job)
Is Donnie Osmond endorsing mitt Romney as a write-in candidate?
I am using a free Sirius subscription they threw at me (no CC number required). I notice they have the POTUS channel, which is CNN dribble (e.g. Snohomish), Howard Stern, other assorted lefties. The Catholic Channel is not as solid as, say, EWTN. The closest thing they have to conservative, and it isn’t, is a Fox channel.
That said, they also have channels dedicated to different decades (40s on 4, 50s on 5, etc.) Vintage radio dramas, country specific news (which might be worth monitoring, even if left, as I like to keep some tabs on Canada).
While it is not balanced, they offer enough good programming compared to most other entities that I wouldn’t trash them for having five bad channels out of 200 (not counting Hip-Hop/Rap stations). Of course, I still won’t pay for the service, so what I think counts for nothing.
XM148 and a couple of other channels are the reasons I keep it on.
Amazon Prime Music or You Tube music.
Both commercial free.
Pandora is pretty good. $50 per year. All music and no talk.
The music in his heart, and the memory of your voice, may be sufficient
Stop and smell the roses, wave at neighbors, be grateful for Creation
Or fill an iPhone/Android with his favorite albums
we’ve had it for the last five years or so. hubs drives an older work van and work truck neither of which have the capacity for built in XM radio (after market or OEM factory)
The device we have has an antenna that keeps breaking so I’ve advised hubby to just stream it on the mobile app since I have a large enough data plan.
I have it on my built in car radio but only listen basically to fox business news.
I use iheart for the Mark Levin show, pod casts of Rush and Rush/Hannity live on the local radio station.
I have a free pandora acct that you can select by artist which gives a fairly large genre to shuffle through.
Haven’t tried spotify though.
I hope you don’t pay full price. I never pay full price. You always call and threaten to cancel and mean it. They will always come back with an offer. My personal best was eight months at four bucks a a month. Now I think I pay a little less than two dollars a week.
I don’t drive as much as I used to but I hate AM/FM and the same old music and endless ads. A handful of channels (Chill, 40s, Elvis, Patriot, Spa) are worth two bucks a week to make a drive more tolerable.
Ive been an XM (now SiriusXM) subscriber since the launch of the service. SiriusXM carries both the Patriot channel and the Progressive channel. They carry the audio of both Fox News and Fox Business, as well as CNN and MSDNC.
I for one appreciate their even-handed approach of providing both political sides, instead of falling into the cancel culture mentality.
Ill keep my subscription.
FWIW, siriusxm bought pandora
Try Patriot at 125. LA conservative radio talk show, rush, hannity and the such.
70’s on channel 7 is good, back when music was musical.
Willie Nelson is a pretty well known leftist. I’m not sure why you’d expect not to hear some occasional left wing drivel on his channel.
Mark Levin is live every night from 6-9 PM on the Patriot channel, with repeats from 12-3 AM.
KlowdTV.com gives you OANN, Newsmax TV, Blaze TV, and several dozen Stingray music streaming channels. You can get all of these on the KlowdTV app for your phone, but you can get higher fidelity music for free then from the Stingay music app. $10/month on Roku/Chromecast/Amazon Fire.
You have to tell the Stingray app KlowdTV is your provider, let it listen to a minute of stream from your TV, then choose the highest fidelity stream level you like (it defaults to the lowest fidelity and there are two higher options).
We have Sirius / XM in both our Cars. We live in the Deep South and FM Stations playing the Music we like a few and far between.
We pay about $6.00 a Month for each Car which is well worth it to us. Every time the Agreement Period ends, I call and threaten to Cancel unless I get a cheap Rate Plan.
Th DJ’s Hosting the Shows make some stupid comments because they are Liberals, just like the DJ’s on FM did when I was growing up. I just ignore it. It comes with the territory.
Sirius / XM has Music, Sports and Political Programming that serves a wide diverse Audience. I wouldn’t cancel over the DJ exposing his ignorance is to the world.
I’m there for the Music, and the Performers are all Leftist nutcases. I’m just a shut up and sing kind of guy (but I never listen to any Springsteen Songs, he drives me insane - LOL)
My favorite music shows on Sirius are Pink & Black Days on Fifties on Five from 8-9 on Saturday evenings, the Pat Boone show on Sunday mornings, and the Sixties Satellite Survey on Wednesday nights over Sixties on Six. I occasionally surf over to Willie’s Road House, but I’ve never heard anyone over there get political.
Rush is not on SiriusXM, but Levin is.
The Patriot on 125 is a solidly conservative channel that features Breitbart, David Webb, Sean Hanity, Andrew Wilkow, Mark Levin and others..
Unfortunately, in Southern California, Rush is up against Andrew Wilkow on Sirius and Dennis Prager on KRLA, and in the afternoon, Sebastian Gorka on KRLA is up against Sean Hannity on Sirius.
