I have to disagree. People were behaving irrationally. First, they would cherry pick the expert of the day (who has subsequently changed his advice several times) and cower in fear. Seeking fear is not rational. Believing the media is not rational. Believing Democrats certainly isn't rational.
The rational thing to have done at that time is take personal responsibility for your own health. Not destroy businesses. Not cause the unemployment of 30+ million Americans. Not obliterate the economy in a quest to unseat President Trump.
The other rational thing to have done, and this remains a constant, is to recognize that you should never sacrifice freedom and liberty for security. Once you do, you don't get it back. Shame on the spineless and timid. Shame on the fearful. Shame on Fearpers.
Obviously you did not read the article. The hospitals are NOT FULL OF COVID PATIENTS!
Shut down hospitals who are normally at eighty percent occupancy for three months and then reopen them and guess what, they fill up very FAST.
Then if you change the traditional definition of patient from someone who is symptomatic to anyone who has no symptoms but test positive for Covid antibodies and suddenly everyone with a broken leg that got over Covid months ago is suddenly a dreaded Covid patient.
Why else do you think the Democrats put in a large cash bonus to hospitals for every Covid patient?

Just talked to a friend in SC who went in for COVID test at a free community center. He completed the papers and got in line, started waiting and then realized it would be at least a two hour wait, so he left.........a week later his results came in the mail.......he was positive for COVID. This is a true story.

It isn’t even close to ending. New case growth is higher than ever before and is trending upward. Almost 138 thousand have died from Covid-19 in the US alone, with 3.5 million illnesses.
Compare this to influenza, where CDC preliminary numbers for the US show that up to 56 million people had influenza this year, resulting in up to 26 million doctor visits and up to 62 thousand deaths. This means 16 times as many caught the flu, with fewer than half as many deaths. Or, put another way, you are 35 times more likely to die if you catch Covid-19 than if you catch influenza.

New research is showing that some people who are sick with Covid-19 do not produce antibodies at all, and that among people who do produce antibodies, most lose those antibodies by 90 days after onset of illness. So it looks like there is no long-term immunity from Covid-19. Just as with ordinary common cold viruses, you’ll be able to catch Covid-19 again (and again) even after you have already recovered.
There is still a lot unknown about Covid-19, but all of the data so far indicates that it truly is and remains a serious threat. So, unless people start taking it seriously and working together to stop its transmission, we’re in for social distancing and face masks for the long haul. This isn’t what I want—I want the virus gone ASAP—but it looks like those who want to dismiss the virus as a big hoax are getting their way and helping the virus to become endemic.

Here is an example of how much is going on with this virus;so much information & some is good, some bad but nobody knows what to believe any more. So they come up with all kinds of rules/guidelines. Where I live(never a real hotspot that I was aware of)they are now reverting back to a situation that is worse than when this all started. THat seems insane, but we the people are given little choice. Wear the stupid mask or stay out of the store. Nobody really knows who gave the order, whether it really is an order or just a suggestion, or even the idea behind it. And schools are supposed to reopen next month. Can’t you just see little kids wearing those stupid masks all day?

Because hospitals shut down floors during the absence of people who were not going for routine things. This reduced capacity. Now there is not staffing for it. So the hospital capacity are not necessarily beds but staffed beds. It is an easily manipulated number. To tell a story that doesn’t exist.
I know differently too. You are wrong.
So you say you know differently. At least three different people present data against what you say. I have expertise in the field and am not seeing what you state. And then you say drop it. Really? Present the data you think is correct.
It amazes me how you claim expertise and then offer opinion wrapped in the false valor of tyranny. Your analysis has been shown to be off (and that kind) so while you are welcome to double down on it, it does not nske toj any more correct.
