It will make it easier for them since they can scribble out skins and replace it with tails. Sharpies you can get at Staples in a six-pack. It is only 57% of the letters so much cheaper than buying a whole new name. It also has the same number of letters so they won’t have to reformat all of their documents and signage. A simple search and replace of skins with tales and voila.

What joke would that be? I am unfamiliar. FReepmail is fine if you want to keep it private.

That's what they've done since about 1974, anyway.

Jacksonville Jaguars, Carolina Panthers, Houston Texans. Might as well put bar codes on the helmets.

If FedEx approves, the new name will be the Washington Redtails.

It’s all up to FedEx they write the big checks.

Red Tail?...

It's a twofer because also could be a homosexual reference.

I’m fairly certain that “redtail” is slang for loose Indian women — at least it was in the Western state where I went to college in the 80s.

Really? OMG, that makes this name problematical then.

My question: When are they going after the “Wizards”? There’s some grand connotations there......

I think that the Washington Redtails playing at the Preparation H stadium has a nice ring to it.

Well, we see with these names, that animal names are still OK, as are geographic references.

There have been some funny threads about sports nicknames here recently. So many team names were said to be offensive, such as Vikings, Fighting Irish of Notre Dame, Saints, Padres, 49ers, 76ers, Patriots, Yankees, Pirates, Raiders, Buccaneers, Brewers.

Someone even said Dallas Cowboys was offensive to real cowboys.
