On Monday night, CNN host Don Lemon spoke over black actor Terry Crews, lecturing him about the Black Lives Matter movement. Crews noted that Black Lives Matter has a broad range of demands far outside the realm of police brutality, and if other black voices try to suggest other approaches to various issues, they find themselves shut down and branded as “Uncle Toms.” Lemon illustrated Crews’ point by speaking over him, dismissing the actor’s concerns about black-on-black crime that has killed innocent children caught in the crossfire.

Lemon gave a rather interesting answer. He suggested that Black Lives Matter isn’t about all black lives mattering, but rather only about police brutality. This explanation does not hold up, of course, because the Black Lives Matter movement uses police brutality as a springboard to claim that “institutional racism” pervades American society. Black-on-black crime is an important issue to address when a movement makes grandiose claims like that.
On the issue of black people shot by other black people, rather than police, Lemon said, “I don’t understand what that has to do with equality. … I don’t understand what that has to do with a movement that’s for equality for black people. … It seems like apples and oranges.” ....
Lemon compared Crews’ criticism of the Black Lives Matter movement to an HIV activist complaining about not being included in the “Cancer Matters” movement.
“If someone started a movement that said Cancer Matters, and then someone said, ‘Why aren’t you talking about HIV?’ It’s not the same thing. We’re talking about cancer,” the CNN host said.
“So the Black Lives Matter movement is about police brutality and injustice in that matter. Not about what’s happening in black neighborhoods.

I guess by his pea brain logic “cancer matters” is not about cancer, it’s a movement to prevent car accidents.

I've never seen a teevee host lose a debate, or admit losing. never. By their defintion, they are never wrong.
That position is ludicrous, of course. pretty much all they have is freedom to say nutty things, and hope people watch. It's not about being right, it's about preaching to the choir and making money.
BLM also shows us the hypocrisy of it all. They do nothing about black on black crime. They shout black power yet state white power is racist. They show a black power fist and yet a white power sign is racist. They say black lives matter but say white lives matter is racist.
It is all a bad joke just as they are , including the white , snowflake , cowardly scumbags out there pushing communism and attacking monuments they know nothing about.
It is why he ,and the media would never have Candace Owens, or Ben Shapiro on

But this all gets down to people being killed. When Joe Friday was commented on by a citizen saying when a cop gets capped, you guys really get on it. His retort, if that person is not afraid to kill an armed policeman, why would that person think second about killing an unarmed citizen? They learned that at chop. And that’s one of the major reasons it fell apart. They haven’t learned that in Chicago. And that’s why many people are murdered daily and the carnage continues.

Lemon is trivializing the deaths of innocent children for the broader political agenda of projecting power. At least he’s not pretending to give a damn about the kids.

That’s why they tore down the statue of Frederick Douglass. He just wasn’t black enough.
