Posted on 06/24/2020 11:24:12 AM PDT by AbolishCSEU
Going to Nashville TN (first time staying in TN) on a business conference/personal vacation. Any must see tourist items? Restaurants? Tips, Avoidances?
Going there 9/22 and leaving for home on 9/29. The biz part is pretty much scheduled with it's own agenda on Wed-Fri. After that it is free wheeling.

I vote Jack’s Barbecue also Kind of a hole in the wall, but great food and it’s a landmark.

Memphis is a complete hellhole. Not safe for man or beast. Have a daughter and family that live there. Get one block off of Beale and your in danger. Protestors been wearing Graceland Avenue out for 2 weeks now. If I didnt have a grand there I would never EVER go to Memphisistan again. Top 5 highest crime rate in the U S for a decade now. Always trying to unseat St Louis, Chicago and/or Baltimore. All this is true.
I work in Memphis but choose to live 250 miles away, and that's still too close. If it wasn't for work I'd never set foot in that dump again. Memphis isn't an easy day trip from Nashville either, it's 3.5 hours each way. I wouldn't leave Nashville to visit Memphis.

All that is true. We’ve been trying to get Mississippi to take Memphis off our hands for a long time now but they’re not having it.
