Waiting for the first time a car driving in wet weather sees a jay-walker running across the street, hits the brakes, and slides on the paint into the poor pedestrian.
Interesting court case: “You were going to fast”. Well, I was going exactly the speed limit, and did not anticipate that an idiot mayor would put slippery paint on a public road.”

Eh. It isn’t much different than cities wasting money on rainbow crosswalks. So long as they are not asking the rest of the country to bail them out, if their own citizens want to waste their own money painting messages on streets, go ahead, although this seems like a safety hazard.

The mayor must be concerned that the DC metropolitan supply chain of cannabis to the ‘burbs has closed down along with the associated tax revenues.
This is completely against MUTCD (Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices) guidelines. The MUTCD sets standards on signage, pavement markings and the like. I would almost love to see what kind of legal incident could occur if there was a vehicle crash or pedestrian strike on this roadway. I know if it were me, I would try to find some lawyer that would sue the hell out of the mayor for this stunt if anything occurred to me or my family on this road.
That reminds me of when I used to work retail. You couldn’t go after someone who you personally saw shoplifting. You could only alert the store management and/or loss prevention. That was it. People got away with all sorts of goods. The store didn’t want the liability. So they took the loss nearly every time. Rarely did they prosecute anybody.

Democrat Robert Byrd has quite a few streets named for himself too. But you’d have to be informed to know who he was.
They used road line/stripe paint and the only other color it’s available in is WHITE or handicap blue.
When Trump wins this will be so wonderful in his parade.
Milwaukee had a “no chase” policy - every kid that had the inclination stole cars and went for joy rides. Crime skyrocketed. After a gazillion complains the stupid policy was rescinded - crime rates dropped to ‘normal’.
