A video posted on social media this week shows a police officer keeping his knee planted on the neck of a black man who pleaded that he couldn’t breathe and subsequently died shortly afterward.
It happened Monday night, when cops were responding to a “forgery in progress.” Police arrived and saw the suspect sitting in a car. According to the Department, the man resisted arrest so he was placed in handcuffs, adding “he appeared to be suffering medical distress.”
The Police Dept. added, “At no time were weapons of any type used by anyone involved in this incident.”
What the P.D. did not address … is the video, and it’s incredibly disturbing.
The black man can be heard moaning and telling the officer that he’s having trouble breathing.
The officer doesn’t budge, as another officer passively watches.
It’s apparent the man is in distress, as a passerby screams, “That’s bulls***, bro. You’re stopping his breathing right there, bro. Get him off the ground, bro,” adding the officer was “enjoying it.”
The man becomes motionless, an ambulance shows up and the man is taken to a hospital where he died.

The footage, which was shared by bystander Darnella Frazier,
She said on Facebook that “the police killed him, bro, right in front of everybody,” the Washington Post reported.
“He was crying, telling them like, ‘I can’t breathe,’ and everything. They killed this man,” Frazier wrote.
That's just the way I roll.
I prefer to wait until I know the facts before making a judgement.
Like, what happened before, what was the actual cause of death.
It doesn't appear that the knee was cutting off his air flow because he was breathing and talking.
Was it uncomfortable to watch?
Yes.
They were all fired so either it was against policy or the dept. caved to pressure.
Was he suffocated?
If so, then charge the cop with murder.
We'll find out but I would guess he had an underlying health problem or drugs.
I choose to wait until I know the facts.
I don't think that makes me a "dishonest pice of crap".

I recall an hapless patrolman here in Brentwood 15 years ago who’d caught his cute little wifey at home with her ankles behind her neck and his superior officer pouring the coal to his cherished little darling wife while he was working
A nightmare of graphics for any happily married man
He goes ape and starts shooting up the neighborhood and taking pot shots in the wide open at his fellow cops
It’s all on tv him in his yard shooting g at anything that moves despondent and in shock at Wifey’s insensitivity
SWAT comes and finally someone talks him down
Now if I’d done that they would have killed me sure as shitake
And that’s what bugs me about cops sometimes

Today’s militarized cops shoot too fast it seems and I just don’t like all the webbing and spec ops look and roids and inked cops with desert storm boots
Especially in posh suburbia where I live
That’s just my two cents
I defend cops when they deserve it and liked troopers and deputies as a boy

And I got on well with Manhattan cops in my years there....beefy Irish and fair ...unless you got froggy
I’ll still wait for the autopsy...and the riots, political grandstanding, etc.
Murder one, put in jail immediately, denied bail.
