A day after armed protesters against Michigan’s stay-at-home order entered the statehouse in Lansing, Donald Trump once again expressed support for the rightwing movement.
Michigan’s Democratic governor, Gretchen Whitmer, should he said: “make a deal” with the demonstrators.
“The governor of Michigan should give a little, and put out the fire,” the president wrote in a tweet on Friday morning. “These are very good people, but they are angry. They want their lives back again, safely! See them, talk to them, make a deal.”
She didn’t listen to the President’s advice. Protestors in Michigan planning to rally at the state Capitol on Thursday are being warned that if they bring firearms to the event they will be arrested.
On Monday, Whitmer said she respected people’s rights to protest but was becoming ‘increasingly concerned about the violent nature of the comments being made’ and the ‘extreme rhetoric already connected to Thursday’s rally.’
She has requested that if people decide to protest that they wear masks and practice social distancing.
Whitmer’s comments came after gun-toting militia protesters joined a larger group demanding that she reopen parts of the state’s economy in a demonstration last week. The protesters spilled inside the Capitol, where armed demonstrators confronted police officers and insisted on being allowed onto the House floor as lawmakers debated an extension of her emergency powers.
Allegedly several members of the groups planning on attending the rally called for the assassination of Governor Gretchen Whitmer which saw one man writing: ‘Can we please just take up a collection for an assassin to put that woman from Michigan down.’
Under current state law, it is legal to take firearms inside the Capitol, because Michigan is an open-carry state.

WILX says “ The Michigan State Police posted a video threadto their Twitter page detailing in part how they will be involved in Thursday’s protest” so I’m going there next.
Why do you ask that? I’m not arguing that people don’t have the right to bare arms. I’m arguing that it’s bad politics to show up with a weapon .. a bad way to win an argument.

Not too hard to assume that they intend to declare “intent” in the same way a sign comparing Witless to Adolf was twisted into labeling citizens en masse as Nazis.

Don’t be a dipstick. Carrying isn’t the same as brandishing.
Given the state of technology these days, it is nearly impossible to make an actual death threat against a high government official without being caught.
I MIGHT believe that Wretched Witless received many ACTUAL death threats when the perpetrators are paraded in front of the news cameras as they are being hauled into jail pending trial.
Until then, I’m gonna assume that they are lying about the death threats for their own purposes.
