What a stupid deceitful woman, ventilators aren’t in shortage anywhere, and keeping people off them and using other treatments likely improves life expectancy. She’s just trying to throw some big word around her constituents who are to ignorant to understand.

Mechanical ventilators push oxygen into patients whose lungs are failing. Using the machines involves sedating a patient and sticking a tube into the throat.
Deaths in such sick patients are common, no matter the reason they need the breathing help.
Generally speaking, 40 percent to 50 percent of patients with severe respiratory distress die while on ventilators, experts say.
Higher-than-normal death rates - like those in New York City - also have been reported elsewhere in the US, said Dr Albert Rizzo, the American Lung Association’s chief medical officer.

I’ve read a number of articles that suggest they need to treat this like pulmonary edema or hypoxia. Neither of which are treated with ventilators except as a very last resort. There have been a number of articles suggesting that the CCP virus kicks irons out of the hemeglobin which mimics hypoxia because of a lack of oxygen in the blood.
I don’t know the answer, but when any treatment has only a survival rate of 20%, a long hard look needs to be aimed squarely at it.
