What made Trump a renegade Republican was his appeal to the deplorables, irredeemables, clingers, and dregs, whom the national media and elite had derided as toothless, smelly, fat, superstitious, bigoted, racist, superfluous, addicted, and toxic.
I wish I could write like that. Want a vivid indication of what they think of us? Count the number of American flags you saw at the Democrat debates - you won't get past zero. The message is clear: "We are better than you, more forward-thinking, moral, righteous, and on the Right Side Of History." These have taken a sharp look at the state of the country at the moment and have concluded that it's safe to come out now, that what is happening and will happen may now be safely blamed on the helmsman steering us out of it. These are not passengers, they are parasites.
The Left saw China in rosy terms as the “Other” that just did things like airports, high-speed rail, and solar panels better than did America’s establishment of geriatric white male has-beens.
And, incidentally, could not parrot loudly enough their admiration for the authoritarian regime that could "get things done". And who appear to have promoted as their own candidate a geriatric white male has-been whose back they can't seem to find the right soft spot to stab, not for want of trying. How pathetic their own strategy of impeach and resist has left them is seen in the latest attacks on Trump not doing enough despite them. It isn't a good look and it isn't fooling anyone.
