The great fear for establishment Democrats right now is that hes *not* starting to collapse, merely beginning to fade. Dem leaders can tolerate Mike Bloomberg beating Bernie for the nomination; they can also tolerate Mike Bloomberg quickly imploding, clearing a path for Biden to win on Saturday and emerge as the great centrist hope against Sanders next week on Super Tuesday.
What they cant tolerate is a zombie Bloomberg candidacy, one where Bloomy pulls enough votes away from Biden to hold Joe down but not enough to threaten Sanders himself. More than anything else, they need to resolve the so-called muddle in the middle immediately. And since Bloombergs debate performance last night was neither great nor terrible, its unlikely theyll get that.

“He brings the excitement of a piece of Melba toast.”
Along with all the charisma of a turnip.
I need to sue Bloomberg for a new TV remote. I’ve never had to fast forward so much!
[You don’t trust pollsters? I’m shocked! Shocked, I say! ]
Well, I agree, but remember
Our last 2 choices selected by the RNC were McCain and Romney, which the ensuing years have made these choices look less and less wise.
The guy who turned out to be a Winner, Trump, was not their choice in any sense of the word. We have him in spite of their literal “kicking and screaming”.
Nothing kills a good advertising campaign faster than a bad product.

wow, RINO/GOPe/Bushite/anti-Trumper anonymous coward Allahpundit, is even more deluded than usual ... Has he guy not heard the latest insane gaffs from Biden, all on the same day:
1. guns killed 150,000,000 in the U.S.
2. Biden personally negotiated the Paris Climate Agreement with the long-deceased Deng Xiaoping
3. Biden said he was running for the U.S. Senate ...
You’ve never been to some of the church services I’ve been to.
> Bernie has his price. <
Bernie was a long-shot candidate back in 2016. But now he can see himself winning it all. Ill bet hes already printing up President Sanders stationary. Hell be very tough to buy off this time.
Me too
I don’t buy any of this Democrat establishment hand-wringing. Their problems with Bernie amount to style and branding and what they think it portends down ticket for having an outright communist as the presidential nominee. They’ll get over their messaging differences as soon as the first post-convention poll shows Bernie as competitive or better.
Seems to be recurring with this clown show. Voters show excitement for new candidate. New candidate polls strong. New candidate starts talking. Voters learn new candidate is as unlikable as everyone else. Polls go down.
bloomberg is a narcissist or he wouldn’t have effectively destroyed biden’s chances
of course biden thinks he’s running for the senate :)
.....(Sanders)....”Hell be very tough to buy off this time”...
Oh I don’t think so....his health is not at all good and h’s old.... he could easily retire with a very comfy income and lifestyle and save face as well.
Biden also has the toughest challenge of any candidate—he has to run against the “Other Bidens”. (Twilight Zone music here...) ;-)
The Dems must figure out how to keep Bernie's supporters in the General Election. Maybe they will offer him VP.
I have no idea who Bloomberg appeals to except elite snobs and the people that want to be an elitist snob.
Bernie picks Warren as VP before the convention—game, set, match.
LoL....Biden’s confusion about where he is and where he’s going just continues to take the stage......
Joe is in shock and mourning for the 150 million killed by guns since 2007. At that pace over 15000 Americans died since last night’s debate.
Bernie will surrender and get another house. He can be bought off for the “good of the party.”
