I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but history matters.
When you see a new story on the horizon, and it looks a lot like an old story you know was a hoax, you have to dig up that history and report it.
Yes, many people hate history. It tends to stretch their attention spans, which are rooted in the present, where the action is: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram-little crumbs of NOW and NOW and NOW.
CDC was concealing a scandal (To read about Jons mega-collection, The Matrix Revealed, click here.)
Oh well. Here we go, back into the Dark Age of 2009, an ancient time.
What was happening then? There was a grim pandemic spreading like an angry cloud over the world, threatening to kill millions of people. Sound familiar? Sound like China right now? It was called Swine Flu.
Just like now, the 2009 announcements were coming out of the World Health Organization and the CDC; the germ was a virus; it was spreading; travelers were carrying it; people were being tested at airports; the source of the germ seemed to be animal-to-human transmission; deaths were being reported; fear was rising. People were saying, THIS IS THE BIG ONE. Other people were saying: THIS IS A WEAPONIZED VIRUS ALTERED IN A BIOWAR LAB. Just like now.
So here is what I wrote about the 2009 Swine Flu pandemic in its aftermath-I hope you can shake off the idea that the following facts are IMPOSSIBLE, THE AUTHORITIES WOULD NEVER HAVE DONE THAT, IT COULDNT HAVE HAPPENED. The following facts are possible and true, the authorities did do that, and it did happen:

Yeah, China has 400 million on lockdown and torpedoed the second largest economy on earth for a hoax.
So much for that desire for global hegemony on their part, better to get some negative press and maybe sell a vaccine that they raced to patent.
What an ignorant article.
Reality is far removed from the premise of your blog pimping.
A severe case of newsheimers...
Sars really did kill 850 people and 10% of the known cases. Thank goodness it fizzled.
Ebola is a horrible disease. Fornunately it's not that easily transmitted, but tell that to the Texas nurse that got it.
We know China is taking this very very very seriously.
29 countries have identified the virus and fought against it.
The virus is real. It's really killing people. The people reporting this are not the CDC or the WHO. It's doctors and nurses on the front line.
Will it be contained to mostly China or will it sweep through all countries laying waste to 2% TO 15 of our population? We don't know.
The Spanish flu killed an awful lot of people.
To dismiss this virus out of hand, because the last few scares were successfully managed is likely to result in deaths that could have been avoided with proper precautions and taking this virus seriously.
Umm. . .is someone, like maybe China or Democrats trying to cause a panic that will result in an economic downturn?
Well, so far it’s not working. Please pass the popcorn.
“Last year, more than 80,000 people died of the flu and its complications in the United States, the highest death toll for the disease in at least four decades.”

How come we weren’t cowering in terror then?
Why are we supposed to cower in terror now?

Shouldn’t we have been running around shrieking the end of the world is coming?
It’s not a hoax but I Definitely Agree with you that the panic by so many is silly and honestly, just seems like bored people needing and “end of the world” scenario for some excitement.
I’m bored too lol. But I see this for what it is.
And so far outside of china it ain’t much.
If that changes in a big way, I will get more concerned.
Yeah, its just the flu. Had to start your ostrich thread for this??
because:
This Canada blog is the biggest piece of shite posted on FR.
Sean Anthony is that you?
We don’t know any of that. The reports are all over the map.
You just want it to be so.
Because this isn’t a flu. But please feel free to try it out when it arrives here.
It’s a bioweapon, right?
You are going to be so disappointed when it isn’t, aren’t you?
No. Why would China destroy their own economy? Makes no sense.
“How come we werent cowering in terror then?”
Because we have the flu every year and we know how much of a danger it poses.
“Why are we supposed to cower in terror now?”
We aren’t. Don’t panic. Prepare and be vigilant. But the Nothingburger Brigade is a pack of idiots. And the people that compare this to the flu are another pack of idiots. Not to say those two groups don’t overlap.
It’s not the flu. NOT. THE. FLU.
As long as we have containment this thing should not have a devastating impact outside of China, particularly Wuhan, where they have clearly lost control. If we lose containment somewhere else then it becomes more likely that we lose containment in more and more places. Domino effect. But it hasn’t happened, and hopefully the measures being taken are sufficient in spite of all the bedwetting currently in progress.
But, as I said, prepare and be vigilant.
“You are going to be so disappointed when it isnt, arent you?”
Not a bit. I’ve spent the last week listening to Steve Hatfil on Bannons’s podcast. Hatfil being America’s premier bioweapons expert.
I suspect that he knows a bit more about this thing than some goofball blog pimp.
Been through the same BS with the same clowns two or three times on FR now over the past 22 years and every time you were wrong. You’ll be wrong this time too.
Your arguments are valid, but your math is terrible.
The flu kills around 0.1% of people that get it. Still 1/20th of the most optimistic estimates for the Wuhanic Plague.
And 10% of 50% of the population of the US is closer to 18 million than 1.8 million. 2% of 50% is about 3 million, not 360 thousand.
If the Wuhanic Plague gets loose and becomes ubiquitous like the flu, our medical infrastructure will be overwhelmed and we’ll see mortality rates close to what we’re seeing reported in Wuhan. 15 to 20%. And that is why containment is key.
But your final comment is precisely correct:
“Cowering in terror doesn’t accomplish anything. Making prepartions and taking preventive action does.”
