I'm seeing more and more Amazon Prime trucks on the road these days

Posted on 01/19/2020 3:13:50 PM PST by SamAdams76

There are now over 100 million Amazon Prime members.

Therefore, a lot of trucks are needed to get those good from here to there and from there to here.

I'm seeing more and more of them out on the roadways.

I bought a book from them in 1995 when they were just a small outfit. It was the 1994 edition of PASSPORT TO WORLD BAND RADIO.

All my out-of-network ATM charges get refunded by the card-issuing institution. Only constraint is the charge can’t be more than $5.

Between FED-EX, UPS, USPO & AMAZON my once quiet suburban neighborhood has become a war-zone of giant vehicle traffic day & night.

Consider this peak eCommerce. Once Amazon has enough market share, and your local brick and mortar store are no longer, and fuel prices climb, you will find shipping prices revert to the costly norm.

Actually not, a Carrier is the most efficient shipper.

A Retail store, is a more expensive Carrier, because now they need back hauls to ship efficiently.

Retailers like Walmart or now Amazon, ONLY ship their EASY routes. The difficult routes they still leave for Carrier companies.

Watch for Amazon to be losing money as their Carrier fleet of trucks grow. Their transportation problems are just beginning to grow costly.

Amazon will stiff a customer $100s of dollars when the retailer goes belly up.

It can take YEARS, just to break back even.

Shhh! Customers are not supposed to know that Amazon stiffs customers a lot of money.

Walmart is still much cheaper, when you add in Amazon’s crooked money.

I have never went to a Walmart and spent $300.00. Then the cashier says we do not have your product. And you can not ever get your money back either.

Amazon though will stiff you hundreds of dollars.

It is what they do.

Their orders usually arrive within 24 hours. And you get live tracking and can watch the delivery person drive up your driveway.

In my area...LA, the also offer free same day shipping.

In my opinion, they make it very hard to contact customer service. It’s way harder than it should be.

But I’ve contacted their customer service several times and they fixed things right up. They’ve even opened the already-closed return window for me a couple times.

I’ve been a Prime customer from almost Day One, so I’m sure they look at my customer record.

A massive Amazon warehouse is being built in my town. Population of 80,000. They are hiring 1,000 workers at $15+ hour. State-of-the-art facility. Rumors of a “delivery-drone base”

We will get free two-hour grocery delivery. It is going to be interesting to see the impact they are going to have on local businesses. I can see Walmart getting hurt by this, bigly.

Moved to MS from S. CA.

Can’t find Mallomars in MS, but I did find them on Amazon.

Amazon is awesome.

"That means USPS, UPS, FedEx, Amazon, etc. trucks are following each other on the same roads. Talk about the giant carbon footprint."

Doesn't that also mean that hundreds, or maybe thousands of people are not driving and contributing to the carbon footprint because products are being brought to them?

"I believe they are indecent contractors."

So, they ring your doorbell and flash you when you open the door?

and you are thrilled that our culture has been worn down by commerce, and the things that have been good about the culture are now sacrificed to the god of your desire.

Yes millions of more cameras added to the all seeing eye of the state.

And you will become a creature of the id. What you want now always fulfilled. Never planning, never waiting.

Their objective, to own it all, and own how the populace thinks.
