JK Rowling has come out in support of a researcher who was sacked after tweeting that transgender people cannot change their biological sex. Maya Forstater lost her job in March after she posted tweets opposing government proposals to reform the Gender Recognition Act to allow people to identify as the opposite sex. Forstater, who worked as a tax expert at the Centre for Global Development, an international think tank that campaigns against poverty and inequality, took her case to an employment tribunal on the grounds that her dismissal constituted discrimination against her beliefs. Employment judge James Tayler dismissed her claim on Wednesday, saying her views are "absolutist in her view of sex". Call yourself whatever you like. Sleep with any consenting adult who'll have you. "Live your best life in peace and security. But force women out of their jobs for stating that sex is real?"
The author, who also donated £1 million to the No campaign, added the hashtags #IStandWithMaya and #ThisIsNotADrill. Following her tweet, Rowling's name trended on Twitter as she prompted a divided reaction from fans. Many people claimed Rowling is a "transphobe", and the phrase "JK Rowling is a Terf" referring to the term trans-exclusionary radical feminist - also trended on the platform. A Terf is often used to describe feminists who express ideas that other feminists consider to be transphobic, including the belief that trans women are not women. However, others welcomed the author's comment, with many joining her in using the hashtag #IStandWithMaya. Forstater was accused of publishing "offensive" tweets questioning government proposals to allow people to self-identify their own gender. Judge Tayler ruled against Forstater in a 26-page judgment, in which he said her views did "not have the protected characteristic of philosophical belief".
He concluded Forstater was not entitled to ignore the legal rights of a transgender person and the "enormous pain that can be caused by misgendering a person". The dispute was seen as a test case on whether a "gender critical" view - a belief that there are only two biological sexes is a protected "philosophical belief" under the 2010 Equality Act. Forstater had argued "framing the question of transgender inclusion as an argument that male people should be allowed into women's spaces discounts women's rights to privacy and is fundamentally illiberal (it is like forcing Jewish people to eat pork)". Representatives for Rowling have been contacted for comment.
I love when the left eats their own.
Even Voldemort couldnt change his sex.
Always fun to watch them eat their own.
Thou Shall Not Question The Narrative! (tm)
She’ll just say that Snape was a closeted trans and all will be forgiven. Hey, it worked with Dumbledore!
It’s not possible to change one’s sex. Stating that fact is not a crime and is not grounds for termination.
It has been made a crime and used as grounds for termination wherever fascism is in effect and freedom of thought has been eliminated.
Thanks, had no interest in Harry Potter before the nutso/freako joined our domestic enemies.
Made the mistake though of visiting HarryPotterLand several years ago before realizing HP’s butterbeer was Universal’s main attraction.
I don’t see why the feminists and TERFs don’t just tell the trannys to shut up. Women comprise 50% of the population. Trans people consist of less than 1%.
Shut up. You chose the lifestyle. Women didn’t.
Always fun to watch them eat their own.
Problem is they never stop there...

26 pages to say that?
Some philosophical beliefs are more protected than others?
Ah, probably like global warming...
“Dress however you please. Call yourself whatever you like. Sleep with any consenting adult who’ll have you. “Live your best life in peace and security. But force women out of their jobs for stating that sex is real?”...
Wow. I didn’t know she was a ####ing pig..

Its more accurate to say anti-trans.
And yes I am anti-trans. and anti-gay, anti lgbtwtf.
Being 99% politically correct just isnt good enough for todays liberal fascists. Quick JK Rowling, issue a slobbering clarification of your remarks.
Hesitate, and the left will start burning your books.
Impossible; she said Dumbledore was gay so she should have been shielded from criticism.
Some libs identify as less crazy than others.
Is that what you meant to say and not:
Wow. I didnt know she was ####ing a pig..
This makes me realize the Polyjuice Potion only changes the looks of a person who drinks it, not their basic sex. H’mmm, Hermomine did become a human female cat.
BOTH!! :)
the people calling her that are heterophobes.
