If a full and fair analysis of the Trump-Russian collusion hoax ever is conducted, it will reveal the collateral damage suffered by innocent people ensnared by the wicked, multi-faceted operation launched by Barack Obama’s White House in the spring of 2016.
There are plenty of infuriating passages in The Plot Against the President, a must-read book by journalist Lee Smith. But the description of how the hoax plotters targeted the family of Representative Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) evokes particular outrage.
As chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Nunes released a memo in February 2018 describing how Barack Obama’s Justice Department misled the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court to obtain permission to spy on Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. Democrats did not want that memo out. In the days and weeks leading up its distribution, Smith describes how the crusade against Nunes “took an even more dangerous turn.”
An orchestrated assault against Nunes’ family, including his wife and three young daughters, posed such a threat that law enforcement agents were assigned to the grade school where Nunes’ wife works. Hackers imitated Nunes’ cell phone numbers; calls were made to up to two dozen relatives, including his 98-year-old grandmother and mother-in-law, so they would answer.
“Then they made it sound like I was kidnapped and that I’d better back off or something bad’s going to happen to me,” Nunes told Smith. “So clearly they had a whole plan where they called to threaten all of those

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY-21) announced her support for the compromise immigration bill that would address DACA, border security and stop children from being separated from their parents at the border. This legislation could be voted on as soon as this week in the House.
"The situation of separated minors at our border is an appalling result of our country's broken immigration system," said Congresswoman Stefanik. "For too long Congress and both parties have kicked the can on substantive immigration reform. I am pleased to help lead the effort to bring Congressional action by crossing party lines signing the discharge petition that forced Congress to finally act on immigration.
"This compromise legislation will solve some of the immediate and pressing issues that our immigration system faces. This package would address immigrants who were protected under DACA, provide needed funding for border security, and end the separation of families at our border.
"I will support this compromise legislation and continue working to reform our immigration system."
Congresswoman Stefanik was one of the earliest signers of the discharge petition to force Congress to act on immigration. She previously announced that she will also support standalone legislation that addresses the separation of children and parents at our borders.

Nunes for President!

Hers is essentially the same view as President Trump’s. She doesn’t support DACA because DACA is dead and gone and there will be no law for it because Congress does not and will not support it. Obama ordered ti even though there was no law for it. Trump ended Obama’s illegal order and does not support any genuine law for it. So DACA as a program is bye-bye for good.
There are no new DACA applications because Trump ended the DACA program.
She supports, as does the President, with the CLEANUP of the DACA mess left by Obama meaning a case-by-case review of persons brought here as young children and who for all intents and purposes are as American as you and me and who have no real ties to the country of origin where they were brought from. It was not their fault. Americans are humane and will not throw what appears to be an American out to a foreign country.
That said, there are indeed many liars and scammers who applied for DACA to slip into a path Obama laid for them, an illegal path to permanent status and eventual citizenship. When they are reviewed they will be outed and deported.
One idea for handling a humane integration of true DACA persons that applied before the illegal program was killed is to emulate what was done for Filipinos who were able to serve in the US military and obtain an opportunity for permanent residence.
So no, Stefanik doesn’t support open borders. She supports what is practical and just. She’s good for that.
