Saudi Arabias Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBC) has told CBS that oil could reach unimaginably high numbers if a war with Iran were to erupt, which he suggested could happen if the world does not take a strong and firm action to deter Iran.
And while MBS is known to engage in hyperbole when it comes to the threat Iran poses, recent events suggest he may have a point here. But what are these unimaginably high numbers he is suggesting? $100 per barrel? $300 per barrel? And what would the world look like if prices really went that high?

Deter Iran
Translation “if the US doesn’t kill it’s own soldiers doing SA’s dirty work.”
Last I checked, SA held the title for killing the largest number of Americans, between them and Iran.
TENS of billions over the decades to terrorist organizations, a tie to 9/11 so strong that bush had it whitewashed.
But only an idiot didn’t know they were part of it.
But by all means, let’s take out the REAL threat.
#### SA.
I hope more of their soldiers die.
At least someone is getting vengeance for 9/11, even if that is not their reason.
People with drive/buy more coal powered cars
Screw the ME
We don’t need that shiathole
Texas and North Dakota would be rolling in money.
What if the lunatic left bans fracking? May be a better question to ask.
Who would benefit from very high crude prices?
The USofA is an oil exporter, as is Iran, and RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA.
Maybe even Venezuela could find a market for their high sulfur sludge? If their bureaucrats could manage to plan how to produce it...
They didn’t. They didn’t because they know what would happen to them if they pulled a stunt like that.
Does Trump have that in mind? The world would be eating out of our hand. Russia’s too. Chicoms are the COMMON adversary. No oil there. They’d need us both.
Well, Drill Baby Drill.
so sick of enriching all these medieval savages.
This guys should be picking flea off camel balls not sitting around in places.
Fu*k the middle east.
This
The oil company shareholders would benefit, ordinary consumers would not. Faceless multinational corps like BP and ExxonMobile aren’t going to be giving their high priced oil away for cheap.
The reason that gas prices are so high in various localities is local (and usually liberal) government is trying to gain revenue. The power to tax is the power to destroy. Trump should pass legislation that prevents such HIGHWAY ROBBERY. lol
The USA is functionally Energy self sufficient.
The ONLY state that imports Middle Eastern Oil is...
CALIFORNIA!
If Saudi Production collapsed, it would be up to Europe and Asia to solve the problem. Not us. Although, Cali would get $10 a gallon gas.
But it didn’t happen. SA just wants to stir the pot so we will fight their war for them and protect them. They just lost the better part of three brigades against the Houthi. They are not very good at fighting it seems.
That’s why I didn’t get the 8 dollar move up in oil that day.
But that’s a WORLD price and so other countries are affected...
How does that work?
We could have a ton of oil but still pay higher prices if overseas it’s high?
Well I guess US refineries would sell to highest bidder.
OK i’m done mumbling to myself :)
The USA Govt. doesn't drill for oil, it buys it like we do from world wide oil companies.
If these companies can get more money overseas they will sell it there.
Oil companies are not charitable outfits and are in the business of making money.-Tom
Didn’t need the last a$$hole line, but I guess some folks gotta be themselves :)

The world?
F*** off. Never again.
We will consider holding your coat. If youre lucky.
Otherwise, go for it. If you dare.
well, yeah. thats how commodities work. unless you have a refinery in the back room..
