Swalwell: Trump So Alienating Our Allies They Might Not Help Us If America Is Attacked

Thursday on CNN’s “The Situation Room,” Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) said President Donald Trump was so aliening our allies, as evidenced by his back-and-forth with Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, they might not help America if we are attacked.

Host Brianna Keilar asked, “I want to ask you about the G7. The president is heading to France after several days of stirring up controversy on the international stage before he even arrives. What impact will that have on the president’s ability to work with global leaders during what are really high-stakes meetings?”

Swalwell said, “We need friends in the world. Today, if there was to be an attack on America or one of the America’s interesting, I’m not sure we would have the same friends across the world lining up to go to conflict or to help defend the United States. ...

And what would our Allies do, “fart in their general direction”?

I’d still trust the UK (at least until they formerly become Britainistan). As for the rest? Heh.

Trump So Alienating Our Allies They Might Not Help Us If America Is Attacked>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

This cat has his leftist head so far up his arse he doesn’t understand.

We do not NEED their help.

THEY need OURS!

All they have to do is give us their land space and air space to defend them, whcih is pretty much how it is designed to work. They delay the attackers, we use the delay to bring in the US Protective force.

Trump is conducting himself as he should. They need to spend a greater % of GDP on defense, or the USA will send them a bill for service.

We do not need to hold these European socialist prigs by the hand.

We don’t have that many allies who would stand with us outside of Poland, Israel, Canada and maybe Australia and the UK.
Even Vietnam would be a better ally than most of Europe.

Yeah! Swalwell is now a Second Amendment supporter in that
America doesn't have to rely on anybody if it is attacked
and its citizens can fight foreign invaders on their own!
/sarcasm (just in case)

I must correct my mistake - formerly = formally. I don’t want anyone to think I’m as stupid as a NYT journalist.

Allies? The sad truth is many countries have lived and still live off us. We have been in Germany since WWII, Korea since the early 50’s, Japan since WWII plus many other places. From the League of Nations to the UN to the World Bank we have handed out trillions to idiotic ideas dreamed up by politicians. And the damn Fed had raised rates 6 time as of 11/2018 plus more this year. Our problem is Gov. employees make decisions to ensure their luxurious lifestyle in northern VA. and MD.

When was the last time our “Allies” did anything to help us except send a hundred soldiers to help on a base somewhere? And even that was controversial for their citizens.

Exactly right. A few of our so-called closest and reliable “allies” were even involved/complicit in supporting the anti-Trump surveillance conducted by the Deep State.

There really is no such thing as an ‘ally’. 0ly friends of convenience.

**************

That’s an irrefutable fact. Its too bad more people can’t come to live in the DC Metropolitan area (for a short time) and see this for themselves. The comforts, the affluence, the job security, the perks, the arrogance, the political bias.

Our government is of the elites, by the elites and for the elites.

Wow!!!! One ally that sent more than 2,000 troops to help us. ONE!!!!!! And what happened to Britain’s PM as a result of that? Most of their government and their citizens do not and have not supported us.

It has been many years since one of our so called allies would come to help the US. The ones that kind of show up do it for cash or because if they did not it would be over for them as “friends” of the US.

“Denmark could send, what? Two ships, a handful of planes to help us if needed.”

If I remember correctly their entire military is around 20000 strong.

Our “allies” are light-in-the-loafers parasites when it comes to defense. They only have the capability of “helping” us by getting out of the way. Their capabilities of extending their military force are weak and essentially nonexistent. Most are pathetic, flaccid socialists.

Only Swalwell would depend on France to help the USA if we were attacked. Hopefully, he will be defeated by someone with a brain in 2020, but in CA, that’s wishful thinking.
