I meant to post something last night, really, but we had a crisis involving the home cooling system suddenly not working and endangering my 89-year old mother (who has a history of heart failure). Thank G-d it's fixed now, but I realize just a prolonged power outage at the wrong time of year could be fatal.
Anyway, yes, today is my 20th anniversary as Free Republic's you-know-what in the punch bowl, as well as its most grumpy and offensive member. I first signed up to defend Israel from the freaking NAZIS who were infesting the site back then. Eventually I despaired, wrote my own opus, and left, but after 9/11 I came back. While this place is certainly much improved, there are still people here whose ability to get away with murder absolutely baffles me.
Back then I was on dial-up. I didn't get DSL until eight years later. But what a long, strange, and totally frustrating trip it's been.
I know I'm still pretty obnoxious, but nothing to what I was in the old days. It's a wonder I'm still around.
Just a word of thanks to Jim Rob for putting up with me for this long.
I still cannot understand why questioning the validity of the "new testament" in addition to previous Divine Revelation is so shocking. FCOL, if some of you folks had been around back then you'd have all rejected it because at that time "that stuff's not in the Bible."
I'll be here as long as I can, though I don't post anything like as frequently as I used to.
