The Pat Metheny Group, and I was mesmerized

Saw Jean Luc Ponty last year, awesome. Then blown away by another 70's fav...the Dawn of the Dregs 2018 tour - Steve Morse, Rod Morgenstein, Allen Sloan, Steve Davidowski and Andy West - reunited live on stage!

Makes me laugh thinking about how pathetic it was. The song and that people liked it.

Me too, I agree that the 60's were phenomenal, but I also think the 70's provided many more great bands, 80's drifted off a bit, and then the 90's were disastrous.

I graduated high school in 1976.

The you better see Peter Frampton's farewell tour, likely his album was playing at the graduation parties.

My son couldn’t get enough of The Cars’ first album.

Good band, saw them in Buffalo back in the day.

Don’t forget Steely Dan, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Electric Light Orchestra, Boston, Grand Funk Railroad, Blue Oyster Cult, Nazareth, David Bowie, Meatloaf and many more!

What's amazing is that the list does go on - perhaps another 50+ great bands. That was the beauty of the 70's - the 60's spawned hundreds of bands. Now there are a handful of new bands- go figure.

Some great country music came out in that time period.

I wouldn't know about that. :^)

I graduated in 1976 also. I saw Peter Frampton in concert that year, and two weeks later, I was in Basic Training getting my 70’s rock band hair cut completely off.

ELP and YES. Then RUSH in the late 70’s. And 80’s, 90’, 00’, 10’s.
