If you don’t need the money you might consider volunteering.
Schools need help, hospitals, charities, museums...
Lots of stimulating possibilities to engage and learn.
I’m pretty much already doing that. I just have too much energy, mental and physical.
I think a lot about my folks at the same age. My father was legally blind and couldn’t leave the house alone and my mother at the same age as I was playing cards with “the girls” in the retirement community clubhouse.
My brother, OTOH, was working full time, and more, till he was 68. He liked working but I don’t think it was completely voluntary.

That’s why part time is best...if you can afford it.
Since you're on Medicare make sure you're new MAGI doesn't increase your premiums for Part B and Part D. If you have a nice income that's at the top of the limit before being charged a higher premium, it might be best to do charity work for free (i.e. I'll probably volunteer more at my church).

I know a number of people who continued to work or went back to work after retiring.
As long as it’s something you like to do, it’s a good thing.

Is there a hospital around that could use your help? Not talking volunteer work. Maybe as a greeter or someone to push wheelchairs around? I knew I wanted to be helping people. I retired a few years early...got bored...and started considering something like that. Then we decided to move and build on the lake, so that’s been the full-time job every since. But, I was going nutso. It’s not that there weren’t things to do...life just seemed to lack structure.
Already doing that at my church.

I just think it important to keep busy. Working pt at a job you enjoy seems like a reasonable option. Personally I’d rather travel, but to each their own.
I am 65 and went back to work for Sears on a part time basis in February. Don’t need the money (planning to donate a large part of it to my dog rescue), just want to get out of the house. But I am going to leave in the next couple of weeks due to back and knee issues.
Ditto that. Work part time; play part time; avoid hitting the retirement funds and delay SS until 70. Keeps you healthier and wealthier. It may even help with wise. Studies show (one of the most dangerous phrases in the English language) that remaining employed in a stimulating occupation correlates with a reduced incidence of dementia.

If it is something you like doing, I say go for it.
If it is something you are going to hate, life is too short.
I, myself, am angling for a position where I can use my technical experience that does not have a lot of pressure and management responsibilities. If I can find the right job, I don’t think I will ever retire.
