I learned something.
There are many rich , spoiled kids who fancy themselves “Influencers”.
Their main goal is to be Youtube stars who promote material possessions only the richest of the rich can afford.
They are egomaniacal, greedy, selfish and those of the AOC generation eat it up and become proud followers.
Lori Laughlins daughter aka Olivia Jade has videos on youtube that arent the worst of the “Influencers”, they are just as everybit shallow and stupid.
Then what are they? Does it rhyme with 'rowers'?...................
Looks like White Privilege should be called Liberal Privilege.
These Universities are just a guilty. That money went somewhere. Sad.
Makes me even more proud that my kids worked HARD to get into school, graduate and are gainfully employed in their field.
She has 2M subscribers on YouTube. Amazing.
I have no particular interest in or liking for LoriL, but an argument could be made that she was trying to better her children, one of whose first reaction was to turn on both parents.
Sad all around, and for a person like me who worked through college with a family and took twice as long as usual to graduate.
They forced her to pose as a crew member? Here’s a tidbit: if a parent tries to force a student to go to a college they don’t want, it’s very easy for that student to sabotage acceptance. The easiest way is to say confidentially in the interview that they don’t want to go to that school.
So, mommy may have to go to jail for paying bribes to get this ungrateful airhead beeatch into college? Sucks to be her.
Kinda makes you wonder how Chelsea Hubble got into Stanford and Malia Obama got into Harvard, doesn’t it. I’m sure the political elite will be spared the embarrassment of their hypocrisy.
As loathsome and disgusting - albeit not surprising - as it is, I question why this is a federal matter. The FBI...?
Sounds like the daughter knew this was coming out and tried to get ahead of it?
Sounds like a sensible individual to me
Everyone is focusing on the actresses and their kids. They are just rich people taking advantage of a corrupted system. Bribes are standard business practices in the 3rd world — which we are becoming.
Unless I am missing something are there not employees associated with the university that accepted these bribes who should be held accountable?
I can tell you right off one way these parents likely justify it to themselves.
Because schools limit their acceptances from any one high school, those in high-performance areas or at top private schools see that as unfair. Indeed those kids more likely need perfect schools to get into colleges that would accept their test scores if they were applying from some more average place with more average kids.
I question the application of Title IX and college admissions based on sports participation, Since the act was signed into law, some forty-five years ago, it has worked many unintended consequences, Athletic programs at all academic levels were supposed to be “equalized” in the support given to participants of what was then both genders, For one thing, the meaning has been expanded to mean there are other “genders” that have to be included, to the detriment of all participants, where biological boys get to play as “girls”, and mixed-locker room facilities, where you have female participants playing on the same team as male participants.
But one of the more pernicious effects has been to give certain weight on applications for college entry on having (fictitiously, as it turns out) participated in some sport or another at the high school level, with any number of persons “certifying” to the participation of the applicant, and giving glowing testimonials to his or her performance, in exchange for what can only be described as outright bribery. While it has nothing at all to do with Title IX, something similar has been going on in regards to ACT and SAT scores, with ringers sent in to take the actual exam, the proctors either uninformed of the substitute “scholar”, or again participating in exchange for an outright bribe.
Wow, I see why they paid all that money.....
