The election was held to fill the seat of Senator Thad Cochran, who retired earlier this year for health reasons.

Which is WHY RBG needs to retire or die; we need Trump to get another justice before 2020!

Odd that she seems to have won the more populous counties, while he seems to have won where there were fewer voters.

Maybe the Trump jobs increases were a factor.

Nah. He lives for that legalese stuff, so he knew better than to skirt around the law. He’s gay though.

There was some rumor about an Obama threat to investigate the adoption of Roberts’ two kids...
this is 9 minutes long but you can run it at 2x speed and still get the gist:

Actually, I was thinking, it seems to be almost the reverse of electing the Dim over Judge Moore. I think we might be able to blame it on embarrassment.

Hopefully this means that Collins & Murkowski will lose their veto power over SCOTUS picks.

Roberts went to the dark side. SCOTUS is 5-4 lefty Well in defense of Roberts (yeah it's tough because he's a bit of a Bush-bot idiot), he has been a solid Conservative vote on all of the major cases with the glaring exception of Obamacare (Heller gun rights, gay marriage etc.) in fact he goes with the conservative majority 94% of the time, which is in roughly the same range as Thomas and Gorsuch. I seriously doubt he's going to suddenly march in lock step with Ginsburg. However I do think he has a reputation for "consensus building" and may likely try to moderate some of the conservative rulings to pull off a couple liberal justices as he prefers 7-2 decisions to 5-4. Either way, it would be best if Ginsburg or another liberal justice would depart to give us some extra "cushion".

Good, finally! I’m on all the DNC mailing lists and Espy asking for funds every other day was getting tiring.
(full-disclsure: I’ve always been registered as a dem, I live in a bluer than blue state and the primaries are the only avenue of influence I have.)
