Dairy cows aren’t kept “constantly pregnant” - they’re just milked regularly in order to keep up their milk production. Not milking them would be a cruelty, unless they were milked less and less over a gradual period of time. It is in the farmer’s best interest to keep dairy cows happy and healthy, milk production would suffer if they did not do this.
