Smyth and Judge did not deny that a “party” occurred. They denied that they were at a party with a Kavanaugh.
Whelan has already backtracked on this.

It wasn’t actually a retraction if you read what Ed posted above. It was an apology to Garrett. He didn’t retract anything.

They left the door open to clarify what they meant. Nothing has been said yet publicly about Ford by either Smyth or Judge.

After so many years, Ford said, she does not remember some key details of the incident. She said she believes it occurred in the summer of 1982, when she was 15, around the end of her sophomore year at the all-girls Holton-Arms School in Bethesda. Kavanaugh would have been 17 at the end of his junior year at Georgetown Prep.
At the time, Ford said, she knew Kavanaugh and Judge as “friendly acquaintances” in the private-school social circles of suburban Maryland. Her Holton-Arms friends mostly hung out with boys from the Landon School, she said, but for a period of several months socialized regularly with students from Georgetown Prep.
Ford said she does not remember how the gathering came together the night of the incident. She said she often spent time in the summer at the Columbia Country Club pool in Chevy Chase, where in those pre-cellphone days, teenagers learned about gatherings via word of mouth. She also doesn’t recall who owned the house or how she got there.
Ford said she remembers that it was in Montgomery County, not far from the country club, and that no parents were home at the time. Ford named two other teenagers who she said were at the party. Those individuals did not respond to messages on Sunday morning.

I would vote that she likely walked back to the Country Club where there was already a pre-arranged ride home or a taxi. The “party” was likely a spur of the moment thing because someone’s vacant parentless house was available complete with a liquor cabinet. You know the drill drink Dad’s booze and fill the bottle back up with water. He only drinks it mixed anyway. Having raised a kid in Montgomery Co I have some idea what the little pukes do :-)

Chrissy said she knew both Garret and Kavanaugh and had at some point visited Garret in hospital. The question I have is how well did she “know” him. This is going to turn out to be a dirty little story in the end if it does come out fully and I think that is the point of Whelan’s “leak”. I have a pretty good idea how these kids partied and it ain’t necessarily pretty. Certainly isn’t stuff a 50 year old woman wants here teenage kids reading about. It is hardball time. I think the Dems will negotiate for every hour they can delay this but I am also betting she never takes the stand under oath. Feinstein is a class A smuck for taking this nomination process down this path but Kavanaugh’s supporters aren’t going to bring a knife to a gunfight.
I am not sure that Feinstein was directly responsible for releasing this. I suspect that someone had some leverage over her.
This isn’t the first time that she has released highly sensitive information that was contrary to established senate procedures.
She die the same thing on the Senate Intelligence Commitee.
It’s been in several articles that Finesteins staff leaked the letter.

At any rate, I hope that this has destroyed Feinstein’s career.
I can’t imagine why an 85 year old woman ( or man) would want a full time job, anyway.

Might it be possible, that neither Kavanaugh, Smyth nor Judge were there? Could it be, that she was using a memory of something she did with another group altogether and simply inserted Kavanaugh, Smyth and Judge into the story along with tweaking some of the action? Maybe she thought the story would less likely be debunked that way. One of her old friends probably knows something—maybe someone with a name that hasn’t been mentioned at all.
Let's say she was assaulted and escapes the house. Why did she leave the other girl alone with "nasty" boys?
If it were me, I'd say to the other girl "Let's get out of here".
