What should you do if blindsided by a vague accusation from high school 35 to 38 years ago
Posted on 09/20/2018 8:10:05 AM PDT by detective
Someone accuses you of doing something at a party when you were in high school.
There is no evidence. There are no details. It supposedly happened at an unknown time and place.
At first, the accuser is unknown and refuses to give her identity. Then she makes her identity public.
She goes to the media. She refuses to answer any questions about what happened, her motives or her history.
She is a political activist who has a political motive for making a damaging accusation.
What would you do?

The ONLY response is to go on the OFFENSIVE.
1. Lawyer up.
2. Respond unequivocally through your lawyer with a strong denial.
3. Immediately start libel/slander suits against the accuser.

I’d change my party registration to Democrat. It’s like putting on a suit of armor.

Slut shame the b*tch by publishing the yearbook pages they forgot to scrub until it was too late.
And embellish her slutiness a bit..who can prove otherwise?
I’d play as dirty as Diane Feinsten played this one.

But suppose you were being recommended for, or applying for some high level job where they do background checks and gather that sort of information? Even if not elective office, would you give a sh*t then about character assassination?
To: Red Badger
Brett Kavanaugh thought he had no danger of that either.

Not ever going to happen. I write software and work from home. Like I said I wouldn't give a sh*t.

I never did anything in H.S. anyone would care to read or hear about. So I'd possibly have to ask for a beer summit and find out who she thinks I am, because I'm not that guy.

do you give a sh*t about this situation, even though you will never face anything like this personally, based on your job and employment status?
“But suppose you were being recommended for, or applying for some high level job where they do background checks and gather that sort of information?”
Background checks are easy. So are single scope background investigations. You tell them everything. What you don’t want is to miss something and they find out about it. Or you don’t want to lie about something and they find out the truth. Simply tell them everything, absolutely everything and they will make a determination. Most of time that determination is that you were truthful and therefore trustworthy
