(snip)
This month, the city has seen at least 29 murders as the violence surged yet again. This led Mayor Catherine E. Pugh to take to the streets to visit some local businesses. One of the exchanges recorded by the Baltimore Sun was a little concerning, though.
You see, Pugh stood inside of an area convenience store and asked what time the store closed. When the owner responded that they closed at 11:30, that wasn't good enough for Pugh.
"Isnt that late?" the mayor reportedly responded. "Thats a little late. It keeps the crowds around here. Nine oclock is nice. We need you-all to close at 9 oclock at night."
But another business owner indicates that Pugh's walk through the streets of Baltimore didn't give her the full picture.
William Boston owns Will B Better Bodies gym in that same area--I can only assume he's supposed to close at 9:00 as well--and he said that if the mayor hadn't had a police escort she would have seen a different scene.
"Youd see everything going on," Boston told the Sun. "Its an open-air drug market." ........

the only reason cities exist any longer is to coalesce power-generally to the benefit of Democrats.
There is no reason to aggregate capital or material any longer.
Cities have been on life support since the 1960’s.
As the national line of credit is exhausted, watch them all fold
Back in the 80s, I had a long description given to me by a guy who grew up in 1960s/1970s Baltimore. Great atmosphere. Charm. It was a great place to be.
At some point in the 1980s....as cocaine flowed in. It changed. Crime swung up. The affect of DC, the gangs, drug spiral....changed it into a place which isn’t safe. I don’t see why any company chooses to stay there and operate. It’s the Detroit of the east.
Baltimordor.

Baltimore is a prime example of the end-game of bureaucracy. The city is largely dead. Literally dead. Blocks and blocks of abandoned houses. But the bureaucracy remains. The parasite has outlived the host.
I remember when the allowed rioting happened in Baltimore. The “community leaders” wanted police to be gone. They said they were going to police their communities on their own.
You mean midnight basset ball did not save it?
Yeah, I don’t know if it is the same woman mayor.
But it didn’t really matter, they are all the same.
Not the same mayor. Stephanie Rawlings-Blake did not run for re-election.
The Orcs, they be gettin restless...
Look up the good mayors record. She's never held a job outside the public relations / community organizer rackets. Her university frat was just a front for the local campus Marxists. (Delta Sigma Theta, a public service sorority) Oh yeah, and she's "a runner and fitness enthusiast".
Wait...I thought there was a ‘truce’ of some kind in Baltimore.
What is this ‘violence’ they speak of?
LOL...”That would be greaaaat...”
“There is no reason to aggregate capital or material any longer.”
BINGO! Cities first appeared along water routes to take advantage of cheap transportation. Labor and capital were attracted and the three elements created whole civilizations. Welfare, poor law enforcement, political correctness and all the other unaddressed social ills are combining to eliminate any desire someone might have to live in close proximity to their fellow man. There is no pressing reason someone has to live in a city given today’s infrastructure and technology. Cities are being destroyed because they have become the power sources of liberal politicians whose only goal is to get rich off the suffering of others. Great cities like Chicago and Detroit could have stayed vital going concerns if not for the evil influence of Democratic power mongers.
One would be hard-pressed to see any difference from the previous mayor.
Don't go out onto the streets of Baltimore at night.
Don't go out onto the streets of Baltimore during the day.
Another Democrat “success story”. /sarc
Why not go one step further and completely shut the businesses down to end violence. Its working so well in Venezuela.

You sure illicit drugs had anything to do with it?
I ask because I’ve been told over and over and over again that drugs are a victimless crime and life would be grand if only we could stop trying to being so pure as to tell people drugs are harmful.
The result is abysmal attendance that makes the inner harbor even less desirable. I didn't think that was possible. Democrats will, eventually, kill everything that is good.
