The argument against arming teachers etc. - Teachers want to teach, not be a police officer. I don’t have a gun in my home to be a police officer. I have a gun so that if or when the intruder finds my location, I can shoot at him! Would you rather a teacher have a gun while hiding in a room with students, or have the teacher unarmed? The key distinction for arming teachers is being ‘defensive’ not ‘offensive’. It’s that simple. The same reason buildings have sprinklers.
Your ENTIRE argument misses the mark.
Everyone knows this stuff. You’re arguing against someone who isn’t thinking about safety, or reasoning.
They want you disarmed to control you.
So your conversation should be:
‘Democrats want to take our guns. The answer to that is no, and we will kill you if you try.
Good day.”
Hmm no, It’s Trump too if you are a young adult, and many other Republicans.
They won’t succeed but you do need to accurately identify your enemies.
With the way those teachers all hid behind their desks in fear for their lives, I think they have what it takes to be Broward county sheriff deputies.

The argument is that teachers should be permitted to carry a concealed weapon IF THEY WANT TO...not that teachers will be forced to.
Discipline would be restored in the classroom, the children motivated and . . . wait what was the downside again?

The six dead (unarmed) adults at Sandy Hook would likely vote to be armed if they could have a do-over.
So get training.
The average police academy gives maybe 60 hours of firearms training.
Most police then don't really practice except for having to re-qualify every 6-12 months. The qualification test is a joke. I passed it at 3x speed at my last training class.

There are 130,000 public schools. The chance of having to use it is very low but arming teachers voluntarily would drop those chances dramatically.
Do it.
They want to take guns from normal people, and leave them in the hands of criminals. They willingly accept all the murders just so they can go after normal peoples’ guns.
It’s not even a conversation any more. If someone starts this crap with you, treat as the seditious and subversive behavior that it is. Shut them down as hard as you can.

A deadly woman is a pretty weapon.
NO teacher should be armed unless and until they are fully familiar with the defensive weapon they choose, and be willing to use it in defense of the children in his or her charge.
Not all teachers can be or should be armed, simple as that. Those who are able, should have the option of keeping defensive arms at hand, and those who cannot or should not, should stick to teaching how to assume a defensive position.
Nobody should ever be simply a helpless victim by choice.
