FBI Official: Rosenstein Will Be Fired After Memo Released; USED Bogus Dossier for FISA Warrant
True Pundit ^ | 1/29/2018 | Thomas Paine

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein approved an application last year to extend surveillance of former Trump campaign associate Carter Page, a secret Republican memo claims, according to law enforcement sources and news reports.

Rosenstein has been fighting the release of the memo from inside the Justice Department, sources confirm.

According to three people familiar with the memo, the FBI and Justice Department’s (DOJ) application was based partially on research by investigator Christopher Steele, who contributed to a dossier containing unverified claims about President Trump‘s ties to Russia.

I'm on for a $20 donation to FR if it is actually released.

You? I am that cynical about this. Something is just wrong to me. They could have done it quite some time ago and I feel like all the voting, etc is posturing. They're all playing us on this. So disappointing but that's how it looks to me.

Anyway I stand by my donation if I am wrong.

Try not to judge everything by a Twitter feed. There are bigger things happening than what the Tweeters may know about.

I am thinking the memo will not be released so he's probably good to go.

I think you are exactly right. This fits the well-worn and all too familiar pattern. Republicans investigate any number of issues and they claim they have the drop on so-and-so... and we never hear anything again. We never see any proof. We never see any conclusion. We never see an air-tight case. Why?

Over and over again, we hear about BOMBSHELLS, tic-tock, and... nothing. And what happens? Everything is flushed down the memory hole. Nothing concrete is ever released. Nothing is ever resolved. And the corrupt MSM and the corrupt politicians then have cover to say, "We need to move on", "Old news'.

Ever notice this? Ever notice how many times in the past decade there is never, ever any conclusion. No one ever faces any consequences. The IRS targeting, fast and furious, Benghazi, Clinton emails, Solyndra and on.

Of all these major, and many "minor" things no one was ever held accountable. Nothing was ever brought to any type of conclusion. Republicans feed their base and investigate and throw everything away and let all their bi-partisan buddies slide, and the game goes on.

I highly doubt we will ever see this current FISA memo -- ever. It will all go down the memory hole after the furor has died down. Watch.

Why would it take this long? The time to do it has come and gone. They're waiting it out and hoping we all move on.

There is something about that memo that is too dangerous for them to let us know, perhaps.

That's the longer version of g a l l o w s.

I find it difficult to believe that Trump will not pursue the maximum penalty possible. In the case of an attempted coup, that means treason. Treason, conspiring with an enemy - in this case domestic - is punishable by death.

There was a pic and article weeks ago, showing Sessions and Rosenstein meeting at GITMO! I did not understand why? Unless it is about keeping GITMO open!

I don’t truth either one of them. Maybe compromised by Hillary/Left blackmail?? I think Roberts on SC is compromised, as he turned out to be a huge disappointment, when he was supposed to be so conservative.

Just wanted another opinion?

Rosenstein wasn’t just supportive of Trump firing Comey. Rosenstein and Sessions both agreed on recommending that Comey be fired. Rosenstein wrote the recommendation letter to the President, then he indeed did turn around and hire Mueller once Comey was fired. The entire chain of events starting with Sessions’ promise to recuse when asked during his confirmation hearing, stinks worse than a pile of corpses.

The House Intel Comm. is said to be voting on the memo’s release to the public after 5 pm today. Matters are moving along, and may happen fast after that vote. A few more days at most, for the memo’s release. Possibly sooner....

Mueller can not be anywhere near this guy when “investigated”

I think Mueller should announce he is ending his investigation after this, because it is based on lies.

And a new investigator should be appointed to indict Rosenstein and make him squeal like the little pleasure piggie he is.

If the memo provides good info that justifies firing Rosenstein, it will be a great opportunity for Trump to put an end to the Mueller charade.

First, fire Rosenstein, citing whatever he did that is documented in the memo.

Second, name a replacement quickly, someone not controlled by the deep state.

Third, I seem to recall that the person under Rosenstein, who would be acting in his stead in oversight of Mueller, is a trustworthy Trump supporter. She should take over control of the investigation, and issue an order ending the investigation, on the grounds that it is:
a. not authorized under the law, since it was not to investigate a crime, but was always a national security investigation;
b. initiated using tainted and false premises; and
c. has uncovered no evidence of any illicit involvement by the Trump campaign with Russian government. The FBI is capable of investigating any non-campaign issues on its own, without a special counsel, such as the Manafort allegations that were from 2008.

If she won’t do that, there will be a struggle in the Senate to get someone confirmed. The RINO cabal will be trying to get a commitment that the nominee will NOT fire Mueller; he would have to be non-commital while still getting the Senators to vote for him. If there is a procedure for Sessions to appoint a temporary replacement, perhaps that would be the way to get around the Senate.

In any event, it is important to get rid of Rosenstein, and this memo provides a good reason to do so.

I think that is where my cynical view of this is probably coming from - as you said tic-toc to the moon and back.

Hillary is still walking around free, in spite of supposed ankle bracelets ad nauseum.

It is still, my husband and I reluctantly concluded the other night, a banana republic here.

Hopefully Trump can return us to a country where laws matter again. But up there in elitist land, bananas are still ruling.

If Shearer was involved then that ties hilLIARy in.

He was in her employ for decades.

Doesn’t Larry Nichols mention him? (Clinton self-confessed hit man)

They tried to take Nichols out in September
