Levin: Trump is the most conservative president since Reagan
Conservative Review ^ | 12-18-2017

LevinTV host Mark Levin praised President Trump on his radio program Monday night for having, by his estimation, a very successful first year in office, and called him “the most conservative president since Ronald Reagan.”

Trump is keeping his campaign promises as best he can given he has almost no support from his own party. He’s still learning. Too bad so many of us still hate his guts. Does ANYONE think the other 16 Republican contenders could have accomplished as much for America in four years as Trump has in 10 months? Who would have pulled out of TTP, pressured NATO to pay up, stick his finger in the eye of the UN, and told the Paris Accord to screw off? None of them.

Before his entry into politics, I don’t think Trump was ever politically ideological (nor is he now). He was just pragmatic and used common sense.

Merely applying common sense and a realistic view of how the world works will inevitably lead someone toward conservative principles, even if that person never sits around musing philosophically about conservatism vs. liberalism. I do think, however, that since becoming president Trump has begun to see how the political swamp really works and is therefore maybe even unbeknownst to himself beginning to develop a more solid conservative foundation.

He’s been relentlessly attacked by former “friends” on the left, such as Schumer, and by the establishment on the nominal right. My gut feeling is that that is having a profound impact on him, and that to the extent that he may have been politically naive before, particularly regarding the true nature of liberalism, he is no longer as he is rapidly discovering true conservatism, and that it is really just another name for our foundational American principles and values.

I just randomly ended up listening to Levin today and was slightly gobsmacked by how he's finally stepped away from the characterization of others of what Trump does to...actually what Trump does.

It was a glowing recommendation for him. My problem with the broadcast is that while he briefly brushed by his support for Ted Cruz, he never owned his previous words nor actually repudiated them.

Or if he did, it somehow missed my ears.

Thing is, Ronald Reagan was a pragmatic populist with a conservative bent. (I know, I'll be pillared for saying such things.) He did give people what they claimed they wanted (or he was tricked into believing that was what they wanted) be it abortion or amnesty.

He also did something that Mark Levin seems to be unable to do; he admitted when he was wrong and was open to learning.

He was never a never-trumper.

He did an awful good impression of one then.

Wow! Sometimes I had to turn him off because he stressed me out!

What, you don't have a safe space with spinners and such?

More conservative than Reagan. Not even close.

I had no trust that he'd govern as conservatively as he has, I had assumed that liberals would exploit his deal making persona and come up with tons of "middle ground" negotiations which actually forwarded the liberal agenda, but their vilification of Trump was so absolute, that not one liberal wants to be seen as having met with the devil of their creation.

Thank you, liberals, for making the most conservative year we've seen in the White House since Eisenhower.

Ranking them Reagan, Bush II, Bush, Clinton, Obama it’s not much of a statement to put Trump ahead of Bush II.

Bush I probably didn’t even vote for Reagan in 1980.

I don't know about being most conservative when you use Mark Levin and Wittle Biwy Cwistal as your measure. Most pragmatic? Yep. Most effective in restoring liberty? Only in a year and it looks good. Willing to kick his opponents in the balls and then curb stomp their heads? Yep. Most fun President ever? Absofrigginlutely. Managing the economy like a boss?

>>>More conservative than Reagan. Not even close<<<

Mark said Trump was the most Conservative President SINCE Reagan, he didn’t say Trump was MORE Conservative than Reagan.

Ronaldus Magnus is still my favorite President in the last 120 years, but Trump is coming up from behind like Secretariat. I mean look at what he has done. The list is so long but a few highlights. Isis fundamentally destroyed. GDP growth through the roof. Goresich. 22 regs axed for every new one. Nato actually paying up. Nafta is on the ropes, the TPP is dead and the Paris climate accord was used as TP. Democrat donors literally losing their minds over Trump or the sexual allegations against them. MS13 being destroyed. Illegal immigration down 70%.

Reagan was the best President since either Washington or Jefferson, but I did a little Google maps survey of Rushmore. There is a place for another face. It would be bigly bigger than the others and probably gold leafed... but I care about $ and security. If Ewik Ewickson or Cwistal or the rest of the #nevertrump gwoup don’t like it, up theirs.

The most conservative president since Reagan ...

... nothing gets past this guy, huh?

I mean, let’s review the competition:

Bush 41
Klinton
Bush 43
Obama

So it’s basically no contest. Bush 43 had some conservative moments, otherwise we have a centrist liberal, a sex-fiend liberal and a communist.

Oh look. Another Trump Trasher has seen the light. It’s that kind of insightful analysis that made him the self-anointed Great One.

Cynical types could question his sincerity.

LMAO

Sure as hell was!

You don’t literally trash the guy for 18 months, then endorse him half-assed just before the election, and then ride his ass after the election, then try to tell me you were’t a never-Trumper. (Not you but Levin)

Levin had no judgement whatsoever.

He, Cruz, and that other idiot were the three biggest never-Trumpers.
