Massachusetts. The only state that would not vote for a tax cut for themselves.
Still shaking my head over that one.

“Do you think it is fair for Alberta/Ontario or do you have a home on the St. Lawrence? “
If you were actually paying attention you would realize your analogy supports the idea that it’s the big blue states that are wrongly supporting the red states.
CA, NY, NJ and IL are the Alberta/Ontario in your story. They send more money to DC than they get back. That extra money is transferred to the red states that are not paying their own way.

"I think theres a chance the bruised congress could pass some watered down form of tax legislation just to distract from their own problems."
Possibly. They are self-serving little $hits, after all. But I do firmly believe that they see the anti-estrblishment, anti-globalist, pro-America movement within the conservative ranks as a threat to their "one world" agenda (reference McCain and Flake's recent speeches). So maybe they are conflicted, but I'd bet anything that they'll protect their ideology before their jobs.

As a blue state Republican I can bite the bullet if it does indeed destroy the national Democrat Party!
Promises, promises...

They are self-serving little $hits, after all. Was it Mark Twain who said that politicians, like diapers, should be changed frequently, for the same reason? TERM LIMITS, NOW and FOREVER!

For every Republican in a deep blue state, that is going to see their taxes go up, and blame the federal government, for the high taxes their state levies, there will be hundreds, if not thousands, of dissociated Democrats in rust belt, formerly 'blue wall' states of PA, MI, WI, MN, who will see their taxes go down.
The national policies of the Democrat party, increasingly benefit only urban districts. Democrats, and their socialistic group mentality, will continue to lead, towards them winning urban environments by 40% margins, but the cost of that is that they will lose more, and more districts, by 5%-10%.
In my opinion, the reason Tax Reform is so necessary, is that it is the means to show life-long, moderate, Democrats, that they are no longer Democrats. And, combining that, with the Democrat party leaders hard shift to the Progressive, far-left, and the 'Blue Wall', will rapidly turn pink, and leave the Democrats as a minority party, for at least the foreseeable future.

Trump wanted a tax cut. An across the board tax cut would have been the right thing to do. No one would be a loser and everyones taxes would be cut. This current monstrosity raises middle class taxes to pay for a permanent corporate tax cut for the gop establishment globalist corporate donors. No wonder the gop is so happy with it.
To: JimRed
You’d have to get rid of every swamp-dwelling Republican from both houses before you’d even have a prayer passing term limits. While I agree whole heartedly with your sentiment, I don’t see it happening any time soon.

This tax bill if enacted will raise taxes on trump middle class voters, not democrats! These supporters are too stupid to see it. They will not vote for gop congress in 2018.the house will be lost. Smooth move. Once again the gop establishment has done in their voters to support their globalist donors. No wonder ryan is happy.

Nope. Raise taxes and lose the House. Mark my words.

Their lives will not be destroyed
They will move or get more politically involved. High tax states spend ridiculous amounts of money because they can. Now their electorates wont be so quick to say yes

Washington state is a no tax state
Texas is a low tax state
Your understanding of low and no tax states is limited.... like that of most elites

McLintock votes yes and retires. Profile in Courage. Next one last run for Gov. to lower taxes. Lose and become ambassador to Ireland.

You are delusional if you think democrat run high tax states are going to reduce taxes to help, their trump voting republican citizens. You have fallen for the fake argument made by the gop establishment globalists in their scam to pass a corporate tax giveaway.
To: Nifster; SkyPilot
That’s why we need to keep the Estate Tax. No reason people who don’t get an inheritance should subsidize those who do. Right?

Which Freeper here thinks this is fair to the financial responsible provinces of Alberta and Ontario? Which Freeper here says Quebec should get more just because they have a vacation home on the St. Lawrence? Reading through this thread, it appears there are plenty of FReeers who think just that.

Thank you. Why are conservatives in blue states being punished? Isn’t conservatism also about the individual and not about what is good for the patty?
