I resent the fact that legislative bureaucrats at some point in the distant past determined that we need more daylight in the evening hours - during the time of year that days are already naturally longer. What about those of us who love moonlight? Every year we are deprived of extra time to enjoy it. And for what? Its been alleged that nobody has ever been able to articulate precisely and convincingly why we adopted daylight saving time in the first place. I think it was a conspiracy to put drive-in theatres out of business.
This observation by an anonymous American generally attributed to a wise old Indian Native American in these PC times - is the only intelligent comment on DST Ive ever heard:
Only the government would believe that you could cut a foot off the top of a blanket, sew it to the bottom, and have a longer blanket.
The concept reminds me of the Republicans proposed tax reforms: well cut your rates here, take away your deductions there, pretty soon were back to where we started.
No matter how you cut it, we always end up a day late and a dollar short.
So get up, have some coffee, quit yer bitching and enjoy the daylight while you can. Just like death and taxes its all you can count on.
Sunrise or sunset? You never know for sure, just enjoy it.

The country should have learned by now that government solutions (central planning) solve nothing. But no. The people demand “solutions” from the government, which just screws everything up.
The State is supreme, comrade.
We are happy to show our loyalty to the State by performing an utterly pointless task. Twice a year.
its the least we can do............
but...wait....there’s more.......
It was to weaken Iowa schoolchildren's resistance to Communism.
ML/NJ
Arizona´s one sensible position...No DST!
DST was copied from Paris, France by Ben Franklin when he asked about Why they tampered with the time. The French did so to cut down on the whale oil expense the public lamps burnt all night. When Franklin saw the enormous savings he instituted it in Philadelphia. New York, Boston all fell in line and it became a regularly accepted nuisance. It is unnecessary now because we dont use whale oil and stores, hospitals, etc. are all lit up 24/7/365/
DST is for those who like to sleep in.
Don’t forget the farmers’ dilemma. That extra hour
of daylight is burning up their crops.
