The thief takes the hat to campus authorities, thinking that they will take her side.
But they don’t. Instead, they take the side of the hat owner, get him his hat back, and call the campus police.

I believe this individual falls into the latter description.

She disgusts me and so do the people who did not take the hat from her and give it back.
I was also thinking that her IQ must be quite low.

I was a misguided YOOT at the time and made reparations. That guy worked hard to buy what are very expensive machines.
Ironically, I owned a vending machine route later on.
She reminds me of that little Chihuahua on the CNN panel.
More difficult than understanding WHY you stole vending machine is understanding HOW.

All you had to do was get a truck and toss it on the back.

Or you could blow off the front and steal the dollar converter which was worth 200 hot.
