Dont give up on Trump just yet. It is far too early to throw in the towel and come to the conclusion that this is another status quo presidency. This is anything but.
Trumps decision to work with Democratic leadership over the contentious DACA issue on immigration is the latest sign that the typical Republican vs. Democrat dichotomy is dying. At least, lets hope with all our hearts. It is likely a smart move to work with both parties to remain flexible and pragmatic, then they will owe you come the end of the year when you finally get to tax reform.
Wednesday nights round of striking a deal with the Democrats, essentially going around the do-nothing Congress of Paul Ryan / Mitch McConnell, shows that Trump is really throwing a wrench in things. No longer do Republican presidents only have to go along with what Republican lawmakers want. The Obama years are over when laws were enacted upon strict party lines. America is changing and Trump is bringing this to a reality in his efforts to deal with whoever is ready to make America Great Again in Congress.

... which is not unexpected by anyone that has been following politics. They are a co-equal branch of government. Trump has to work with them and hopefully find his way in cutting deals with them. It will be tough slogging to get any of those campaign promises done.
It's that simple.
Yeah right. The new math. Trump can just decree things and they get done. I'm waiting.
You can hide your head in the sand, but Trump is no longer in charge. Look at the facts:
Bannon leaves, says he's being denied access to Trump
Long time bodyguard (ex NY cop) leaves, says he's being denied access to Trump
Roger Stone reports, Trump is slurring his world in phone conversations and Trump doesn't even drink.
The only people around him are Kelly, McMasters and Jarvonka, and now we're getting DACA deals with Shummer & Pelosi.
It's not new math, it's the same old screwjob math
Dang, I forgot to bring it. : )
Trump is dealing with even more adversaries than Reagan did with less core ideology onboard in his heart
And Reagan knew to keep his lib family at arms length
You’re right
It didn’t come out good
Nuance is not always better because it’s more thoughtful
Sometimes instinct is smarter and instinct is by its nature binary
I’m suspicious of people who say binary
It just means two parts
I think folks smart or stupid are reasonable to question if Trump actually did or said what were read this past week
I certainly do
I’m don’t mean to seem personal you did try to preempt your post with caution
Perhaps you can fill me in on the final details of the DACA law Trump agreed to.
Thank you in advance.
I think we will all know in time
I’m not giving up on Trump.
The only ones speaking about giving up on Trump on Free Republic are either weak-kneed GOPe types whose first impulse is to run to the tall grass, #NeverTrump'ers, or paid DeepState provocateurs.
The point is that a lot of the ‘Trump has betrayed us,’ crowd acts as if they already know. But they don’t. ,
You got that right!
