Today, I, a black guy talked to a resident of Charlottesville, VA while at work. When I asked where his company was located, he seemed reluctant to tell me. After he (I suspect a Caucasian) told me where we was located, he was probably more shocked to my response to his location...
... nothing.

No, I just kept the business conversation going. I'll bet he, and the other citizens of that city are tired of having to deal with how the nation media has literally made that city a verb. I made it a point to NOT bring up anything about the recent past of his city. I could tell, he appreciated it. I just wonder how much abuse folks from that town have had to deal with over the past few weeks.
Our conversation was about business, and I made a point of keeping it that way.

Gov. McAsshole is backing off the anti Right Nazi rhetoric Today he said the riot in C-ville was not about statues. He said there were violent groups on both sides. What douche bag. He tried to make political hay off of three deaths and now he is walking it back.

I was going to criticize his grammar, but his message turned out to be a very important one. I was gratified to learn how this man picked up on and read the unspoken tension following his question. He responded just fine.

Good job jimjohn. After watching American helping Americans I think our society is healthier than we realize. I wish we could change the media, but it seems the only way we can get this country functioning again is to ignore them and be kind and decent to each other.
So McAuliffe called Trump’s words on Charlottesville “hatred, bigotry and racism” and said they were “dividing people” . . . and then says those exact words three weeks later as if they were his own, and suddenly they aren’t any of what he originally accused them of being? That’s truly vile.
That’s a lesson in wisdom. Thank you.
A lot of people are easily steered by the media. It stems from ignorance of current events, an unwillingness to spend the mental energy to analyze things for oneself, and a tendency to run one’s life on emotional reactions rather than rational thought.
Thank you for not taking the easy road.
I just want to know when he will make the declaration that Trump had the correct response all along. Never mind, I know the answer, never. His leftists followers would eat him alive & he knows it.
