Less than two weeks before Election Day, Hillary Clinton held a clear lead in the polls and it looked like her campaign was trying to run up the score just as the race was about to turn upside down.
At 12:37 p.m. ET on Friday, Oct. 28 with 12 days left in the election the campaign blasted out an advisory to reporters announcing that the former secretary of state would be campaigning in reliably Republican Arizona, a move that suggested her team was gunning to compete in states well beyond the battlegrounds they needed for victory against GOP nominee Donald Trump.
They had every right to be confident.
The RealClearPolitics polling average from the day before showed Clinton leading Trump nationally by nearly six points (for perspective, Barack Obama beat Mitt Romney by four points in 2012). State polls had Clinton ahead in key battlegrounds like Pennsylvania and North Carolina. Even the data team doing analytics for the Trump campaign was telling reporters that, as of Oct. 27, they had just a 15 percent chance of winning.
All this was happening while early voting was taking place in states across the country.
In retrospect, however, the race was never as stable as it appeared. A contest featuring the two most unpopular candidates in modern presidential campaign history made the political terrain unstable and more susceptible to sudden shifts.
And the ground began to move under the Clinton teams feet just 20 minutes after its Arizona announcement, with a tweet from Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, who said the FBI was looking at Clintons emails again.....

And picked the worst VP ever.
Only demented leftists were surprised.
One only had to observe the rallies.
I was only surprised that Trump didn’t win by a bigger margin - but the voter fraud was more of a factor than I anticipated.
Not one picture of the hildabeast drawing tiny crowds vs her opponent filling stadiums???
Truth be told, the only people who really were fooled were the ones who had been busy fooling themselves. At the point a wildly overconfident Hillary team were announcing proudly that they were moving the action to Arizona (where the heavy donors were, not the votes, but nobody seems to have pointed that out) the entire Rust Belt was slipping away. Wisconsin, where her sole appearance had been canceled due to the Orlando shooting, went for Trump. Had she made so much as a single visit there it was just close enough where she might have salvaged the state. But nobody told her it was slipping away because they didn't think it important to measure it. This is political hubris on a very high order.
It took that campaign staff less than 24 hours to concoct the Russia fable, again according to the book Shattered. It was meddling, it was hacking, it was sexism, it was every possible excuse other than the obvious unacceptability and incompetence of the candidate herself. They're still spinning the same self-serving fantasies, and the media who had egg on their face starting at just about 8:00 PM Eastern time on election night, are still repeating them, or were until it became apparent that if there were any Russian issue it was on the part of the Democrats, not the Republicans. That story is now flopping on the shoreline gasping for air, as it should have been seven months ago.
“And picked the worst VP ever.”
Who wouldn’t go to Clown College to find a VP candidate? Makes perfect sense to me.
Whenever I was anywhere near a discussion about the election, and there was a liberal around, I just kept quiet because I didn't want to deal with their insanity.
So, pollsters and interviewers and pundits never got the truth because they were considered to be part of the antagonism.
It also explains why even today, Trump's support is still understated. It's just not worth the hassle dealing with people who cannot handle the truth.
FIXED.
Trump won WITHOUT the media. That's why they went full bore, take off the mask leftist pawns.
Pick any 11......................
More like the 12 Days of Christmas.... manic depressive liberals crying uncontrollably, the gift that keeps on giving.
"Journalist" Mark Murray writes this but offers NO PROOF that Team Trump did any such thing! I can damn well say this: if, on October 27, Team Trump told ANY reporter they only had a 15% chance of winning, then that reporter would have published it IMMEDIATELY.
The media slips LIES into all sorts of reports.
The slimy hack Podesta told her supporters to go home and wait until the votes were counted.
Less than an hour later, she phoned Trump and conceded the election.
I’m mean they thought they had this thing in the bag. When Trump was leading in WI and MI all night, I knew it over.
The Fat Lady sung when Trump look over the lead in PA.
Uh huh - stunned beebers, alright.
Thanks for reminding me of these happy memories!! MAGA
The smirking Rats in the fake news media continued to smirk about the “Clinton Landslide” until about 9:30 pm EST on election night.
And then the votes came rolling in, and the fake news media collapsed at the grip of pain.
Watching live on TV their arrogance turn to disbelief, denial, rage, and near suicidal grief was FUN FUN FUN to watch!!!! It was the most fun I’ve ever had watching election returns. Mr. Roo Roo and I were high fiving each other, dancing around, laughing our buns off. We still laugh and talk about it. :0)
This happys me. Yes it does.
Just for today; I'm adding this gif of Mr. Pepperballs to all my posts. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
No mention of the 4 states she thought she didn’t need to campaign in.
And lost in all of them!
I have to say, I thought it was a lock for her and went to bed early because I didn’t want to hear her gloating.
I woke up at around midnight and was stunned when I heard Trump had won Pennsylvania. Needless to say, I stayed up the rest of the night.
My face hurt from smiling so hard!
Okay, so I went to the link and just read the whole article. Nothing, absolutely NOTHING is new or revealed that wasn’t known.
The bottom line is kind of near the top of the article, where it goes through a litany of reasons Hitlery lost: white working class, her refusal to campaign in Wisconsin, the lackluster support of blacks (even though Hussein campaigned for her)...
The article then just obsesses over the POLLS.
Polls polls polls.
Russia Russia Russia.
Racist racist racist.
None of these fakenews outlets or fake journalists have come anywhere CLOSE to talking to Trump supporters on a regular basis to find out why they voted for the man. They all rely on third parties, usually “experts” who sit in academia or in analytical outfits and ask them to give an explanation.
Boring.
