Back in job market again after end of my current contract. I updated my listings (as a UNIX/LINUX C and C++ expert) on Dice and Monster the other day, and the phone began ringing off the hook.
Well, one recruiter wants to know if I am interested in full time work, direct hire, in Detroit, for the process control of a steel mill whose business is reportedly burgeoning.
This looks like a MAGA move to me, and the recruiter points out that it isn't all decay, there is rebuilding going on too.
My rhetorical question: how crazy does a high tech red neck have to be to make such a move? It can't be all bad -- this is Kid Rock territory after all.
To slum in order to MAGA or not to slum, that is the question.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA. The guy who insisting on comparing Detroit weather with Mars accuses somebody of playing fast and loose with... Well ANYTHING?! BWAHAAHAHAHAHAA
I’ll give you credit, you’re at least funny with your desperate relliance on name calling. I mean it’s laugh AT you funny. But it’s funny. And so far you are the one doing ALL the raging.
More name calling.
So why do you keep on pushing, then? What do you expect is going to win a victory for you? Some God Of The So Called Objective Humidity?
To you, “Humid” is where you can’t operate a swamp cooler.
To me, “Humid” is where my plastic upholstery mildews spontaneously.
Well, it’s a dry stupidity.
Just pointing out what you are earning yourself.
I’m not pushing anything. The real question here is why do YOU keep pushing on? It’s been demonstrable on here for hours that you are wrong. You’re the one pushing the fallacy of the excluded middle by trying to pretend that even though every single place that bothers classifying regional climate says Detroit is cold and humid I’m not being objective. You took a dumb position, and you know it. You know Detroit is cold and humid, you’re not stupid, and you know insisting I wasn’t being objective was the wrong one. But you’re too weak to ever admit you’re wrong. So now you spend hours and hours and hours calling me names, making yourself look weaker and weaker. And frankly that’s funny.
Face it. You’re the bully. And just like all the other bullies you arrived at it by being weak. That’s always why people bully. Because they need to cover for their weakness. And they think the best cover is bashing. But it isn’t cover. It’s announcing. By resorting to name calling you told me you’re weak. If you’d have just been man enough to admit you were wrong you’d have been strong. You’d have earned my respect. But instead with every single post you announce to all on this thread that they shouldn’t respect you.
More name calling.
Ya know, I might as well complain about “Arid” winters. And say that Arizona is arid, arid, arid.
I am a piano player (as in, don’t shoot the).
Places in which swamp coolers will work during the summer, also tend to be hell on pianos during the winter. 5% and less humidity indoors once heated to livable temps. The wood doesn’t like that. Staying tuned requires humidity in the wood.
Silly. Denying the obvious.
Actually you’re just being a name caller. An ad hominem addicted factless person who can’t admit the simple objective truth that the Great Lakes region is cold and humid.
We are arid. Though we do have a mini-monsoon in the winter, so we don’t get arid winters. Those are objective truths. Just like Detroit being humid is an objective truth.
More name earning, Stew.
Ya know there was a reason they built a lot of pianos in Detroit, till it fell on hard times. Not only was it convenient to ship the materials to and the instruments out of — they didn’t have to do anything fancy in the factories to keep the wood from being too dry.
Tell me how many pianos were built in Arizona, bub.
More name calling. I don’t deny the obvious at all. It is quite obvious who the only bully on this thread is. It’s the one that can’t make a single post without name calling.
But the point is, it’s relative. To what you need the climate to be for the purposes you have in mind.
You keep earning the name.
Don’t care how many pianos are built in AZ. I do notice though that you just accidentally admitted Detroit is objectively humid.
Congratulations, you finally admitted you’re wrong.
If you're in the south (?) now you're going to be in for some severe culture shock coming up north. I went to visit Laz last summer in Georgia and this damn' yankee loved the south. People there are much nicer, it's a slower pace of life, it's a complete rat race north of I-80.
You've been warned!
You keep doing all the bullying. I just point it out. I haven’t bullied anyone. You’re the ad hominem junky.
I have to agree with you, grew up in Detroit area and in the winter of 83 we sold everything and moved west, did not know where we were going to end up but wanted out of that weather in Michigan.
Cold bitter winters, wind chill used to be like 20-30 below, snow up the ying yang, hot humid summers, rainy rainy spring and sometime fall.
Low ceilings of clouds in January and February and March.
But on a good day it was nice.
Lived in Oakland county.
Hardly can think of a good time of the year to go back and visit, been back maybe 4 times in 33 years.
No it isn’t. Humidity is humidity is humidity. Whether or not you like it or need it is relative. But an average humidity of 71% is objectively humid, PERIOD. If it wasn’t people wouldn’t know where to put their piano factories.
