A librarian at New York University suffered serious race fatigue at Chicagos American Library Association (ALA) last month, experiencing mounting anger and frustration after having hit her limit of dealing with white people.
April Hathcock, scholarly communication librarian at NYU, summed up her experience at the ALA in her blog as nothing short of a sea of excruciating whiteness.
Five straight days of being tone-policed and condescended to and splained to by an 88 percent white profession, she wrote. Five days of mounting anger and frustration that you struggle to keep below the surface because you cant be the angry and emotional person of color yet again.

This poor snowflake needs her safe room with its teddy bears, crayons, silly putty, cuddle puppies and hot chocolate. Waaa! Waaa! Waaa!
Move to Africa. Problem solved!
Yeah, its called soot
Mmmm, a librarian who does not know which word to use properly in a sentence. It is role not roll.
I thought this was satire when I first read it.
Those bigoted bastards in The Library Association expected her to learn to read!
Not enough black people visiting the library?
Angry Black Woman strikes again.
So sick of them.
I see the problem.
She Hathnocock.
And that’s why they will always be at the bottom of the socio-economic barrel
Blaming Whitey, never taking responsibility
I have limited sympathy, based on my own personal experience.
Sounds like the angry negress can’t function at a white pace.
Of course, being a Librarian does not necessarily make you a grammarian.
I have always thought of librarians more as technicians; filing books on shelves so that they could be easily found.
I never really thought of them as professionals. Still dont.
I’m sure, with her credentials, April Hathcock would easily find employment at the University of Nairobi in Kenya.
Easy peasy. No more ‘whiteness fatigue’.
You know she won’t go, though.
you beat me to it!!
Given her body type, I don’t think that was the fatigue she was referring to. Heck, getting up out of a chair might fatigue her, let alone her getting fatigued trying to keep up with say, Mary Keitany, or even Rosie Ruiz.
They need librarians in Johannesburg.
No worry about whites there but she’d have to stock up on window bars and razor wire.
.
.
What is she trying to shake them down for?
