Calls for Internment of Suspected Terrorists are Becoming More Prevalent, But There are Other Ways

Not just in the UK, but throughout Europe and America, more and more people are calling for those on terrorist watch lists to be interred, and even some major politicians are floating the idea now, too. But historically, no one has ever been proud of taking this action. It is a step too far and risks the Liberties of everyone, not just potential Jihadis.

When sweeping new powers are awarded to a government, it is never long before the powers are used against ordinairy citizens; and in a world that is increasingly persecuting those with Conservative views (and especially those that prize the Second Amendment highly), how long would it take for politicians to begin using these laws as a way of hitting out at those who disagree politically?

Once we allow government new powers, you can be sure of two things:

They will never take these powers off the law books. They will find ways to exercise these powers for political ends.

He’s right. There are other alternatives.

Yes there are alternatives. I recommend just shooting Islamist supremacists in the face until dead.

I prefer interment over internment for terrorists.

How about blocking entry FIRST

Blocking re-entry after visiting Arab country.
Lifting naturalized citizenship on any advocating sedition and deporting. Born Brits? I don't know.

“Calls for Internment of Suspected Terrorists are Becoming More Prevalent, But There are Other Ways” Yes kill squads are needed and will either have to happen to the invading muslim animals or BY the muslim animals invaders. The choice will be up to those whose foolishness has put them in this position.

If you are not a “natural born citizen” and the child of natural-born citizens, advocating sedition should get you stripped of your citizenship and deported. If you are not a natural born citizen, committing a terrorist act should get your surviving family members stripped of their citizenship and deported.

If you travel back and forth to a country on the terror watch list, you are clearly not a refugee. You should be stripped of your refugee status and deported.

And yes, how about some sanity in our immigration policy. Immigration policy should serve the interests of citizens. It should be limited to people who admire us and want to be us, and additionally have something to offer us. If you don’t love us, you should not be considered for entry.

It is indeed comical when people panic about "rights" being trampled.
All this screeching about a travel ban...citizens of other countries do not have "rights" to come live in our country.
The United States is typically very gracious about accepting visitors.
That open-door policy should be immediately closed pending further review and analysis.

Don’t laugh. Caning is great punishment. Many governments use caning as punishment for infractions such as vandalism. Check it out.

The Roman republic used dictators off and on to defeat invading armies, yet kept themselves free.

It is a shame our Framers didn't at least consider the office of dictator.

Dictators and Republics Part I.

___

Exactly. Therefore, since muslims don’t love us or our way of life, no entry for muslims. Exit only for those already here.

Prior to the destruction of Carthage the “dictator office” seemed to sort of work for the Roman Republic. After the destruction the Republic was awash with wealth, so later dictators surrendered power with increasing reluctance (Thinking of Marius, Sulla finally Caesar!) until finally Caesar Julius & Octavian (Augustus) said to themselves, ‘What the heck I’m keeping it all!’

Anyway that’s my interpretation! Also there was only one Cincinnatus! Find someone today who even knows the story of Cincinnatus. At the time of the Founding Fathers it was a well known story for even the most commonly educated.
