From what I’ve seen, American beauty & wholesomeness (both male/female) peaked in the 1960s. Its been going downhill ever since and accelerated after 1990. I remember noticing it in 1995 when I was walking through a shopping mall and realized how overweight so many young people were.
I picked on women, but even younger men today look like there is something wrong with them. However, it is not quite as stark as the changes in women.
Bingo!
That is quite a story. Good for your friend.
I am 55, single and never married. Looking back, I am glad that I did not marry. It would have been a disaster; I was immature and not would have not known what hit me. Without getting into details, the marriage and the eventual divorce would have destroyed me.
I am happy with who I am now. I have peace of mind.
Best of luck, Diana.
I dropped out of the game 20 years ago. After the wicked witch looked up my name on the internet and saw a similar name belonging to a white supremacist (Aryan Nation, Christian Identity, ties to Chevy Kehoe, and a big time child molester), she went ballistic. She put four gallons of water in the gas tank of my truck, called my employer, and spread the lie throughout the bicycle racing community. By the way the person she accused me of being is currently in a Federal Prison. The damage was done. I don’t even want to be bothered with any relationship.
What really threw me for a loop was when I was in supervisor training at a major engineering company. One line from the instructor was “Ninety percent of all communication content is emotion.” So ninety percent of a discussion about the material balance in a process unit of a refinery is emotional content. SMH. Who is John Galt?
Congratulations to you youngsters who are at the 30 year mark. We will celebrate our 55th anniversary this year. The key to a long marriage of two imperfect people is mutual forgiveness.
“What would be the possible upside?”
Exactly. I truly thought I was going to be on my own from 50 on. I was MORE than ready for that. I was/am as organized as YOU are. I told Beau, ‘You’d better hurry up because a woman in good health, who can cook and clean and grow food and raise animals, with land, NO DEBT and a retirement account is NOT going to last long on the open market!’ LOL! (And it STILL took him 5 YEARS to convince me I should sell my farm and throw in with him!)
You are doing the smart thing...though make sure you have a circle of TRUSTED friends and family around you. You can’t go it totally alone; no one should. ;)
And, um...Love sneaks up on us when we least expect it; don’t rule that out! Please PING me if you DO find, ‘The One.’ I would LOVE to dance at your wedding...if there is one, LOL!
I wish people would quit bugging me about getting married all the time. Yeesh! Do I ask THEM personal things like:
‘When are you going to lose weight?’ ‘When are YOU going to divorce the loser YOU’RE married to?’ ‘Why can’t you hold a job?’ ‘Why DO you live in the city, have a dozen kids and how can you AFFORD that these days?’ ‘Why did you just buy a McMansion that you can ill afford? In twenty words, WHO are you trying to impress, and WHY?’
Seriously, MYOB! You know who DOESN’T bug me? My 80 year old, uber-religious Mother! (She’s got a TOTAL crush on Beau. But, who doesn’t?)
Boy, I guess this IS a sore spot for me! Thanks for letting me unload! :)
“Marriage is a wonderful and amazing thing with the right person.”
*HEART BUMP* :)
Yes, Mother. ;)
I’m 61 never married either. I have a ‘girl friend and shes kinda heavy but we get along. Not romantic though and we never had relations all these years. I help her a lot on her farm stuff. She’s conservative, Christian and a can do kinda woman. Sometimes I wish it was more but she’s not the affectionate type so I leave that alone. It is what it is but somehow I’m ok with it but I wouldn’t mind some sex now and then. I date some women now and then but it never seems to work out so the platonic friend stays consistent over time. What it is.
She is one of many leftist lemmings extinguishing their own gene pool. Don’t get sucked into their undertow. They want zero population so gaia can inherit the earth. That’s all.
Absolutely not. We are both very, very happy.
And if he weren’t such a Luddite, with no interest in the Cyber-world, he’d tell you so, LOL! :)
“I matured beyond him by 23. He was a nice man, in retrospect I probably should have stayed married to him.”
The man I’m with NOW, IS my first husband - but all grown up!
Analyze THAT, LOL!
For a marriage to work, you need two good people who are willing to marry each other. Not everybody who gets married is a good person and, too often, a good person marries a very bad person.
/// Im not sure about some of the posts here. Marriage was created by God and the family is His creation. What is happening to FR? ///
Created by God and then corrupted by feminists and the legal system.
Sorry, but I don’t view myself and my sons as disposable commodities.
And NAWALT Unicorns are a lie. (Not All Woman Are Like That).
Find a way to fix the legal system, and then maybe MGTOW will come back to marriage.
Maybe if the country gets taken over by Islam and all the feminist liberals that invited them in are put to death by them, then marriage will go back to not being a crap deal for men.
But I’m not going to hold my breath for society to wake up.
A man should strike first. Call 911 and say the wife is hostile.
Do it again later. Create a pretense of domestic abuse, especially on the child.
Art of the Deal. A marriage negotiation begins early.
The problem is less you or your wife, but a corrupt legal system seeking slavery.
Of course, if you both have a history of predictability and sanity, you can avoid the early negotiation.
Thanks, Sweetie! :)
Hold up a minute - I’ve been noticing lately I go to the airport or a sports match and I don’t see as many hot women as I used to. I thought that was just me. Are you saying there’s something to it?
