Could Apple buy Disney?

It would be a huge deal, worth hundreds of billions of dollars — and that's what analysts are speculating about on Thursday.

Research from RBC Capital Markets says such a merger would produce a "tech/media juggernaut like no other" — the combination of the biggest tech company in the world and a near-century-old cultural titan.

"The resultant company would be massive, with enough cash and balance sheet capacity to change the nature of the hardware, service, and content industries," the analysts wrote in a note to investors....

An endless technicolor yawn of fake news and culture-of-death propaganda.

The people would have to go 2nd Amendment to end it.

I guarantee you if they do a 15% repatriation tax holiday the cash coming back in would make this a done deal on Apple’s end and they would vastly overpay for Disney.

Just the Marvel and Star Wars franchises alone make it too attractive for words. They’re the only things driving box office anymore.

Yes, they are a different beast than anything the Founders envisioned. Established law had never anticipated organizations like them and has never recovered from the encounter. This is a large part of what modernity is about.

Looking forward to Mohammed Mouse and Dalit Duck...as well as the big screen debut of Ace and Gary, the Ambiguously Gay Duo.

Would this Apple & Disney Borg even need a box office? Straight from them to your iPhone,iPad, watch, tv box, etc.

The movie theater of the future could be akin to a Disneyland ride, strap into your seat, put on some sort of headset for video and audio.

Apple will sell a movie theater chair that you can attach all your stuff too so you can experience it at home.

Since they are perverts, Apple & Disney will venture into the sex bot industry. Business will boom.

An endless technicolor yawn of fake news and culture-of-death propaganda.

Sexually ambiguous and blatantly perverse cartoon and drama propaganda, forcefed to your i-phone as they bleed your bank account. Mmmm... but would it be a good investment?

Tim Cook, CEO of Apple since Steve Jobs died, has lost its produce innovation leadership. Instead of investing in the business, Cook has pleased Wall Street by spending Apple’s cash hoard on stock buybacks and dividends. Meanwhile the customers who purchased millions of iPods, iPads, Macintosh computers, and iPhones have been disappointed with the absence of transformative innovation since Mr. Jobs turned over the reins of the company. Cook seems more interested the media applause he receives as an LGBT advocate than he does in maintaining the company’s technological and marketing leadership.

Acquisitions, stock buybacks, and dividend distributions are tools used by mature companies to sustain or improve stock price when management lacks the vision to reinvest money generated by the business into product innovation to grow the business. Without vision, and the nurturing of a culture of innovation, companies become cash cows and ultimately are milked to the point of death.

Cook will be celebrated on Wall Street if he buys Disney. The Wall Street bankers will make millions on the deal and the business press will praise Cook. However, a Disney acquisition will be the death of Apple much like the Time Warner acquisition killed AOL. Disney executives will take over Apple and Apples product lines will be milked to fund Disney ventures. Ultimately loyal Apple consumers will tire of “me too” products and meaningless feature bloat. Other companies will innovate and drive technology forward. Apple products will Blackberry, Palm, Atari, Compaq and other brands built on technology that withered due to lack of vision and innovation.

I remember that. It ended, but people are still crazy enough to try it again.
