Oh, Jeez Jeff. Are you lost again? We told you to keep your name tag on. Just go to the nurses’ station and tell them to take you back to your room. And see the Dr. about your meds.
No air-conditioning on the building’s roofs. Low tech. That’s why the central courtyard construction of even multi-story buildings. Also no water tanks on the buildings. . . water pressure has to come from water mains so limits height of buildings.
Here’s a picture of Kabul in which you’d be hard-pressed to identify any Islamic buildings: http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/photo/2015-08/05/134481577_14387339974421n.jpg
Mountains look the same... building types look similar...

Ulan Bator
Too many cars for it to be North Korea
Is the picture recent, like in the last day or two, or is it much older?
May be. I thought too many trees for UB, but I guess that’s not the case.
Internet pics of UB do look like it, also distant mountains look similar.
Nailed it.
I don’t know...I couldn’t see Fort Loudon off to the east...
I was able to grab a street view from Google Earth of the four billboards at those coordinates that I posted. Alas, I don’t have an on-line photo repository so I couldn’t post the photo. Cheers!
Where the heck is Ulan Bator?
That’s Ft. Loudoun to you.
I’m an old hat off the TN river around the new 321.
NC right now. Cheers
How about this city?
Mongolia
Some of the architecture looks like China but it would have to be a city on the interior of China. Not nearly populated enough for it to be Eastern China city.
-The green roof with the traditional curved roof line is one item.
- The sign across the top of the building with the seal in the middle is typical of a Chinese public security bureau.
-The white square building.
Now scrolling down to see if I am way off base and what the answer is.
Nope.
The picture looks like it was taken from your hotel room.
Jeff, I’ve got to tell you that if you have awakened more than this time not knowing what city you are in (or with “blank spots” in your recollection of what you did the evening before) you must have a medical issue (possibly a drinking problem) that needs prompt attention. Now, I’m not saying you are an alcoholic (realizing that facing up to the fact that you don’t know where you are is a very positive sign, indicating as it does an awareness that you need to get things under control). See a doctor at the first opportunity! Do not procrastinate!
