Its not law yet, and it doesnt cut overall spending that much. Nor does it significantly cut the deficit or come close to balancing the budget, which will never come under control until the 800 lb. elephant in the room entitlements are gutted dramatically.
And it doesnt go as far as I would in slashing and burning the DC bureaucracy largely unconstitutional a giant sucking sound of redistribution of wealth from hardworking Americans to the blood-sucking leeches in the nations capitol.

In government speak, entitlement means it has a US Title in law.
PRECISELY
Good comment... I agree.
Bunch of useless paper-shufflers sucking up our tax dollars.
It’s not just you, or me, for that matter. It’s all the millions of people who pay into Social Security, only to be insulted by being told that it is an entitlement program. And all this as the funds are being given to non citizens.
Bingo!
Bingo!
HHS budget up over 500 billion per year since 2012.
These cuts, while great, are only a drop in the bucket.
But he needs to make sure these happen, or the enemy will carry the day.
I am entitled to medicare because I payed the money into medicare, you ignorant dog turd.
So don’t be trying to steal my money
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Now now Benny boy, no need to get vulgar. Even you should have the right to get what you’ve paid for, no more, and no less. It’s just that the word “entitlement” today usually refers to benefits that the recipients DID NOT pay for. Now go take your meds and calm down!
“I am entitled to medicare because I payed the money into medicare, you ignorant dog turd.
So don’t be trying to steal my money”
Easy solution - privatize Medicare.
Medicare witholding is a tax. It's not a fund you pay into. It is a wealth transfer, a gift from one set of citizens to another set.
Anyone who wants to gut entitlements should be subject to the gutting process first?
What specifically are you talking about?
Here is one of the salaries listed on newsbusters.org for Steve Inskeep, co-host of NPRs Morning Edition. 2009-2010: $361, 093, base salary of $319,370. 2010-2011: $373,097, base salary of $334,560. Other salaries are listed at the site.
“Anyone who cavalierly suggests gutting entitlements should be subject to the gutting process first.”
So if I want to get rid of an “entitlement”, and I don’t get it or am not qualified for it; I will be gutted for that entitlement? When they gut me for that entitlement that I don’t get, I lose nothing.
How about government pension? I would like them to change that to a 401K like what 95% of the private sector. So they impose this “gutting” on me, I lose nothing because I get a 401k benefit from my employers.
I can live with your suggestion.
‘base salary’
betcha his bonus is bigger than his base
nice income for a part time radio gig
Good list. Good start. Lousy website. Popup ads are intolerable.
Exactly.
I think we need to clarify the meaning of “entitlements”. I am entitled to my Social Security that I paid into FICA. I am entitled to medicare that I paid into through my payroll taxes. My money, I am entitled. It is not a tax, as no government employees pay it.
NOBODY is entitled to free money, like welfare, medicaid, food stamps, etc. These are charity I am forced to pay, not ENTITLEMENTS.
Need to take the word back. Just like the left took the word Gay and made it a new meaning, they took the word entitlements and muddied up the meaning.
