Starbucks says it plans to hire 10,000 refugees over five years in the 75 countries where it does business.
Chairman and CEO Howard Schultz outlined the companys plan in a memo sent to employees Sunday in response to President Trumps executive order banning travel from seven Muslim majority countries.
We are living in an unprecedented time, Schultz wrote in the memo, which listed several actions the company says it is taking to reinforce our belief in our partners around the world.
The refugee hiring proposal, Schultz wrote, will begin with a focus on people who have served with U.S. troops as interpreters and support personnel.
Schultz also reiterated Starbucks support for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA, which helps undocumented immigrants who were brought to the United States as children get drivers licenses, enroll in college and secure jobs. The program was created by President Obama through an executive order in 2012....

That would be quite illegal, hiring on the basis of religion.
Bad coffee served by Muslim militants....not exactly a magnet for commerce.
Howard Schultz
So that’s 10k American’s that won’t be getting jobs. Got it.
Maybe you could try not helping so much.
There is one just inside our Kroger but have never stopped in. Now, pass. Besides, Kroger put in, of all things, a bar! To hell with coffee, gimme a beer!
I happen to enjoy Starbucks very much but after I use up my balance no more reloads. Unlike their boss I don’t hate myself.
I don’t think it is 10,000 US workers—it is global—75 countries over 5 years.

Starbs is obnoxious and annoying—I think they are trying to jump on the anti-Trump bandwagon here.
Very frustrating though because any US jobs lost are good ones as they provide benefits such as health care and college tuition reimbursement
Good for them...just keep them out of America...
And good luck...selling your crap coffee..in Somalia ...et al.
Personally I think Starbucks is lying their asses off.....Just like the MSM...
Just like Liberals everywhere....
They have butt-hurt and are lashing out....
Well the hard part will be finding some that are willing to work. Especially in Europe where they can just collect welfare forever without doing anything other than molesting women and children in their spare time.
75 countries taking “refugees”?
Hollow response from liberal Starbucks. 133 workers per country.
We’re expecting 10k AMERICAN refugees from that headline, not Moslems going to other Moslem countries. Big deal.
There must be a separate room for the women in hijabs, while they’re at their prostrating.
I have never been there for the simple reason that I do not like coffee.
oy vey! Ceo Schultz has a lot of chutzpah
Well, I like coffee...The only one time I ever went to a Starbucks, I asked for coffee...The pencil neck little guy asked me what flavor....
I said coffee....
He said what do you want in it?
I said....coffee....
He said, “But, but, but...You just want plain coffee???”
That did it for me for good...
No more starbucks for me. This one was the last straw.
I like hot apple cider and hot spiced tea. I like the smell of coffee but not the taste. If I have a cold, I like hot lemonade.
I like hot cider also...
Hire’em all. At least they’ll be vetted properly.
And yes, virtue signaling.
Good for Starbucks. They can deal with the suicide bombings elsewhere.
