There was a time when we didn’t obscure the reality of what today is defined as misinformation, fake news, etc. We simply called it what it is: lying.
The fake news label has legs.. I agree that it is “weaponized journalism” but lets not mess with success.
FROM STORY:
But WaPo left out a number of critical points and horrendously slanted the rest about this firing of the head of the D.C. National Guard.
That D.C. position unlike the equivalent for states is appointed by the president, not by the Pentagon, as the Post suggested, nor by any branch of the military. Also, the article glaringly omitted any statement from the Trump transition team, an inexcusable offense, considering it later emerged Schwartz had been offered to keep his position through the end of Inauguration Day it was Schwartz who turned down the offer, preferring instead to vacate the role at 12 noon, when Trump will be sworn in.
There are already a couple of words.
Propaganda.
Disinformation.
It’s been a long time since I’ve heard a short concise meme for news and journalism. “Weaponized Journalism” is one I count among the best. I wish that I had thought of it. It is an instantly recognized truth that needs no explanation, frankly.
You must use "triangulation" to verify a story (i.e. verify by using at least 2 separate, independent, and trustworthy sources).

almost everyone understands what “fake news” means. “Weaponized journalism” is just new speak gobbledygook.
Excellent. Weaponized journalism is exactly what it is.
Another definition is “false prophecy”. This is especially relevant to Christians, revealing the spiritual basis of these dishonest (to use Trump’s term) communications.
A good expression from an earlier era would be “fifth column”.
I prefer “Rather Journalism”. It existed before 2004 but Dan Rather made it acceptable for people who call themselves “journalists” to publish fake news. He deserves recognition whenever it comes up.
Even the media that pretended to condemn him while thanking him and running with the story are failing to give him his due when they discuss the state of “journalism” in 2017.
Journalism and academia are the life blood of the left. If Trump can some how neutralize or weaken their ability to churn out leftist propaganda, he will have a much smoother path.
How about ‘journo-aggression’?
I have been saying this. The media is a weapon, and it's long past time we should have taken it away from liberals and turned it's power back against them.
The mediots are reinforcing their position as the, “Enemy Within. They have held that position for years but have thrown off the cloak and think they are now so powerful that hiding their socialist roots is no longer necessary.
The administration of President Trump will reveal their twisted attitudes and hopefully we will see a change. But it will have to begin in the educational system for any real change to become effective and long lasting.
Nope. “Fake News” has been roiling through the MemeSphere, to the point that the WashingFake Post recently cried out, “Please stop.”
We have ample means to fight back
All other social media platforms and comment boards (go out to others besides FR, especially liber websites with comment boards).
Boycott newspapers and TV stations and their advertisers, starting with WaPo.
Circulate true news or stories as far and wide as you can.
